  1. If we sign Long, I'll be excited. Hell, I'd be happy with Bushrod-just would be hoping we'd get a Dustin Keller or something else with him.
  2. Frazier and Meadows play against each other today.
  3. Other news from AZPhil is shitty. Maples is hurt again. Either elbow or shoulder, not sure which. Torrez is in camp, temporarily at least, assigned to Daytona. Vogelbach is assigned to Kane County.
  4. Awesomely funny, true, and wish like hell I could see it- Vogelbach was taking grounders at 3B today.
  5. Find it unlikely we'll cut BOTH Spaeth and Davis. Guess its possible if they've got a guy ready to sign though. At any rate, those moves alone would put us 13 under, restructure Briggs, Peppers(if needed) and extend Tillman and Jennings, we'd have plenty of wiggle room.
  6. And with the way Jonathan Gray is going, its plausible he's a very legit option at 2 for us himself. He was sitting mid 90's in the 9th and has obviously been excellent all year. Not sure what his weakness is(haven't done any research).
  7. Manaea goes up against Tom Windle(threw no-no last outing) Friday in a matchup against Minnesota. I'm sure we'll get plenty of coverage of this one. Windle would be a damn good get in the 2nd for us.
  8. Thats total, right? Not 50 just this upcoming season, correct? He had 17+ with the Braves in 2011.
  9. Not to mention, a midseason trade or two could bring in even more. Personally, I think Vizcaino will lose his eligibility. But, the big 3 and Vogelbach seem pretty likely, along with the 2nd pick. Then we'll have Johnson, Paniagua, Candelario, Alcantara, Villanueva, maybe even Maples or Underwood, that all have at least a small chance. Feel pretty good about getting one or two of those guys on it by next year.
  10. Boldin to the Niners for a 6th rounder.
  11. Cabrera getting cut this early IS a disappointment. He's just not getting anything over the plate. Starting or relieving, you obviously have to be able to throw strikes.
  12. Was anyone just listening to Waddle and Silvy, with Keith Law on? He evidently gave his opinion on Marmol and Sorianos' trade value. Just curious if he gave a legit answer or if it was a typical "too large of contracts to be moved" type of answer.
  13. If we added Bushrod and Moore, are we happy enough with the O-Line? Or still need to use an early pick on one as well? Even with other holes still to fill?
  14. Sean Jensen made it sound like we'll announce our cuts/restructures tomorrow, right before FA opens. If we're targeting Bushrod, I'd like to think we could fill TE as well thru FA. I think we're going after Long myself. In that case, it likely would be all we could add besides resigning a few of our own guys.
  15. Knights' response on Twitter was perfect- It wasn't in the scouting reports the Clippers threw lobs lol.
  16. You weren't. You're right. He sucks. I wish McLeod was as smart as you are, he has the nerve to think he'll break out this year. That's a rather odd response. Did you mean that for a different post? Good God. Sorry man. I think I'm so used to negative, I'm unable to realize you were giving Villanueva a compliment of sorts.
  17. I kind of figure we'll trade him to Arizona for someone thats close to a carbon copy of Peralta, that doesn't need to be on the 40 man.
  18. You weren't. You're right. He sucks. I wish McLeod was as smart as you are, he has the nerve to think he'll break out this year.
  19. Soler with a long bomb.
  20. I know I mentioned Lake would come up and put up a Vitters' type line this year, but I'm growing increasingly confident he's a very solid contributor for us from 2014 forward.
  21. I could possibly be convinced into Kris Bryant or even Jonathon Gray at 2. At least if they keep playing as well as they have been.
  22. Great cap breakdown Raw. If we wound up with that kind of room, it's feasible to go get Long and keep our guys. Part of me wants to go that direction, just because it's conceivable he gets healthy and is elite again. But I think I'd spread it around and go more in the direction I posted earlier. Still, an elite LT would make a gigantic difference obviously.
  23. I'll go with some surprises here. Paniagua stays back in EXST and gets a June callup to Daytona. I'll listen to Sahadev Sharma on that one. I'll predict they start out with Johnson, Jensen, and Concepcion, with a Wells/Wang piggyback and a Reed/Rivero piggyback.
  24. Not sure if you were interested for the Bears but no way would he come to Chicago to be a nickel CB behind Tillman and Jennings. Nah, I wasn't interested in him for the Bears at all. The "damn" came from me thinking FA had basically started already. During the 3 day negotiating period. Then, I realized Robinson had been cut, so he could sign whenever.
  25. I want to see Manaea hold velo late in games over the course of the season, since he's yet to do that. Right now, Appel is definitely safer and has just as high of an upside, arguably anyway. I think Anderson is this years' Kyle Zimmer. The come from no where, now I'm a top 10 pick guy.
