  1. Our FO knows whats up. [expletive] YEAH.
  2. Bryant is 5-6 with 2 HR and a 2B right now. I think I give up on not at least putting him under serious consideration at 2. Maybe the bat IS good enough if he's a RF.
  3. This is the biggest WTF of the thread so far. I think I can top it. Vernon Wells(9) has as many homers as Pujols and Hamilton do combined.
  4. Nice, hopefully he gets the bat going. He has a nice bb% but his avg/slg is pretty poor (and his babip is about normalized at .270). Hopefully he can get to Kane County by mid-summer. I know you know he's in Kane County already. :D
  5. By the way, Daytona has only had 3 rainouts this year? Seems like a lot more. Doesn't change my mind they need to move out of the FSL. KC has had 6 rain/snow outs already, although I think thats more of an aberration. By the way, am I the only one on the Contreras bandwagon at this point?
  6. Awesome! Did I just miss this or is this the first we've heard that Maples was promoted?
  7. As far as Rizzo goes he's looking like he may well be a "face of the franchise" type, in my mind.
  8. Yeah, not a hockey fan here either.
  9. X-Ray was negative, he's day to day.
  10. Hit his pitch count one out into the 4th. My guess is he'll need 2 more rehab starts. Or they'll give him 2 more anyway, to maybe give them a bit more time to evaluate the current logjam.
  11. How many innings is he slated to go today? One more rehab start and then a call up? 70-75 pitches. They were hoping he'd get 5 innings in, but he's at 57 pitches thru 3.
  12. You only think so? I guess you're right. He has easily passed Cutler and Rose in my man crush rankings. Just think Noah needed a mention here.
  13. Move the [expletive] out of the damn league ASAP.
  14. I'm not watching, but my guess is you saw Valbuena, who's going for an X-Ray on his thumb after his slide into 3rd.
  15. I guess we traded Drew Carpenter to the Rockies for a PTBNL today.
  16. Sveum said today that when Garza comes back(pitches today and has at least one more minor league start) Shark, E-Jax, and Wood are definitely staying in the rotation. So, either Feldman or Villanueva is the odd man out, barring a trade or injury, since he also said they wouldn't go to a 6 man. Personally, I don't want to see either go the pen. I'd rather see them start and try to up their trade value as much as possible anyway. My guess is Villanueva would be the one to the pen, since Feldman is only signed for this year. Then, if he or Garza is dealt relatively early, Villanueva could go back to the rotation at that point and leave enough time to build interest in him as well, if we go that route. I guess we'll be set with Shark, E-Jax, and Wood for 3 spots entering 2014, possibly with Baker back cheaply, if he comes back at some point. Vizcaino is a possible 2014 option and conceivably anyone we'd receive via trades at the deadline would be as well. If payroll is stagnant for 2014, we can sign or trade for one 10+ mill type and grab another shortterm type guy as well9plus add 20-25 mill worth of offense), depending on whether Villanueva survives this deadline or not.
  17. Gray couldn't keep the ball down today. Went 5, gave up 6 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 8 K's. Threw 109 pitches. So both struggled this weekend basically.
  18. Cool, thanks man. Starting to think we may not see him pitch in the US this year even. Glad we've got him pitching, at least.
  19. Did anyone listen to the BA podcast yet, pertaining to the new info on Paniagua's visa issues? I haven't had time yet.
  20. Tayler Scott gave up his first homer as a pro tonight.
  21. Camp with a 4 pitch inning? The Nats must want to watch the 2nd half too.
  22. Stats still count and they finish it? Or they start over? My guess is since they said suspended, they'll pick up from there. Just a guess though.
  23. I'm trying to understand your logic on this one and I can't. From a competitive standpoint, baseball lifestyle, # of scout observations, and age progression it all gears towards more knowledge going towards players within minor league systems over potential early draft picks. I was basing it more on makeup, I guess. You've got access to a players inner circle prior to being drafted in most cases, don't you. I would think once a player gets inside a system, the players attitude, lifestyle, work habits, etc are a bit harder to uncover. May be easier to hide things that developed since they were drafted. Am I wrong on this or are scouts pretty easy to get info from, on whats going on within their orgs?
  24. I figure he may wind up getting some major league time, just not for us.
