  1. Thats only if you see him as clearly a much, much better option than Gray. Personally, I'll take either and then overslot as much as possible later on.
  2. I think Lebron is a much better matchup on Rose than he would be on Nate. Nate may very well make mistakes, take and miss ill advised shots, but I think he'd have an easier chance getting shots off on Lebron than Rose has.
  3. Agree completely on a couple of things said these last couple of pages: Best two hours of sports I remember in a long, long time and if they don't win another game this series, this was worth it. Wow, not much else to say. Nate, Jimmy, Noah- [expletive] AWESOME
  4. From what I've read, Gray has excellent makeup. Which would lend to think he'd keep himself in his current physical condition. Which is why he's showing so much stamina in his starts this year anyway. Just a hunch(and not trying to start anything) but I have a feeling Gray is our top guy and its Appel that has us looking at Bryant and Moran.(who Hoyer called the 2 best bats)
  5. Hoyer told Bowden they've had people at every Appel and Gray start this year. Also said they've expanded their consideration past those two recently.
  6. I figure both Appel and Gray will be in the 15-25 range heading into next year on BA's list.
  7. Jason, Jed, Theo, Madison, Wilken-they all go see players, plus your crosscheckers. They're all going to get multiple looks at all the top guys, so they can compare notes and come to a definitive decision on who they want. In the end, I guess McLeod has the final say, but its good to know we have a very large scouting department at this point. The question I have is how far down the list does this go? My guess is the entire group probably has taken looks at all guys we're targeting for the first few rounds, not just the 2nd pick.
  8. Too early for a DeJesus trade? Of course, that doesn't explain Sappelt getting sent out unless a RH OF is part of the return.
  9. Maybe give Soriano a day off a week? Keep him fresher and figure DeJesus hits lefties as well as Sappelt has? I'm stretching, its not an ideal fit obviously. I do think he's a better player than Sappelt is, I just wish he was a righty.
  10. My guess is Ian Stewart isvoff the 40 man, maybe out of the organization by tomorrow.
  11. I think Fujikawa, Russell, Bowden, and Rondon are all decent pieces. I doubt they pull the plug on Vizcaino starting that quickly. My guess is we'll probably have one of Cabrera, Dolis, Zych, or McNutt in the pen next year. Then, assuming payroll is in the same range it is currently, I think we'll add one solid 3+ mill a year type and a couple of scrap heap guys as well. Plus, I guess its possible Villanueva could be a pen guy, depending on how things go with the roster.
  12. I'm just trying to make light of him K'ing a few times. Hell, he's my favorite prospect, I don't want to see him traded.
  13. Next time you guys should just tell him his mole isn't cancerous.
  14. docs cleared him two months ago. He wants to come back "better than ever" though. Why he won't just come out and say he's not playing this year is a mystery.
  15. Stewart's makeup is off the charts awful. He's done.

I'm a bit disappointed in his walk rate, but its been a month. If he's at a sub .700 OPS at the ASB, talk to me. My guess is he'll be much closer to .800 than .700 though at that point.Wasn't his OPS like .715ish or so heading into yesterday? A 3-4 day with a couple of doubles and he'd have been around .750ish and this wouldn't have been brought up. The fact that sub-.700 was brought up just seems very cherry picked here.
  17. If DeJesus is NOT traded, we won't get a comp pick, period.
  18. I live in the town he plays in, and you would be surprised how little hype there is about this guy. What do you think his ceiling is? Heading into this season, his ceiling was an ace. Of course, he's not been all that impressive this season, but weather has been a legit issue in evaluating him.
  19. Arguello used a very good analogy on the Appel/Gray debate today:Like a boxing match. Appel won the first few rounds, Gray won the middle ones, and Appel just won that one. Far from over. I just want them both to continue pitching well enough that it doesn't force us into looking at Bryant or anyone else.
  20. They're playing. For all that is holy though- Get the hell out of the FSL as soon as humanly possible.
  21. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I thought he was the only guy willing to do it Zell's way. As the last guy standing, I figure Selig saw no issue or red flags with them. Plus, as an added bonus, he got a guy that wouldn't, even if he wanted to, spend like a maniac. Which definitely appealed to Selig.
  22. Contreras is the guy I'm moving up the most spots based on early season results. He's in the 20-25 area for me right now.
