  1. He'd have around a .700 OPS in 100 ML AB's right now. But Castro wouldn't be broken, so call it a draw? Nah, because Castro will fix himself at some point. Plus, I won't fault the FO for at least attempting to make Castro better. The old regime could turn Baez into Pedro Alvarez instead of becoming an ungodly superstar.
  2. Remembering back to Javy playing a bit of 3B and how uncomfortable he appeared, I think I'm ready to move Castro off SS, if it means Javy is happy.
  3. He'd have around a .700 OPS in 100 ML AB's right now.
  4. I think he'll be up before mid-August myself.
  5. Good lord. All you can do is shake your head.
  6. I'm not convinced on Cabrera either, but he's certainly got the stuff, at least. For some reason I thought you had something against Parker. At any rate, its pretty telling how far the pen options have come, that we can make out an entire pen without adding FA and feel fairly decent about it. Still think we'll bring Guerrier back and one other vet, who's pretty solid, when all is said and done.
  7. Vizcaino either has one left or they can petition for one. But he'll likely be in AAA. Cabrera is ouy of options though, so if he's not dealt, he'll be in the majors. So, as for Kyle's list, just swap those two out. At this point, I don't think we can count on Lim. Wouldn't mind having 3 lefties though, but if Rosscup looks good, I think Russell could still get dealt. Kyle, gotta ask though: What do you have against Parker? I'm definitely counting on him, if I'm looking at our pen.
  8. I think he's going to make the team out of ST next year.
  9. Anraku gave up 4 in the 10th. On his final pitch, his 183rd of the day, he hit 94. He's since hit a 3 run homer in the botyom half of the inning. Oh, and for those that don't know: He's 16.
  10. Anraku Watch: Coming out for the 10th inning, about to throw his 300th pitch in 3 days.
  11. Of all teams in sll leagues, Daytona had to win the trade deadline. They added Pineyro, Black, and Edwards to the rotation, then got Bryant and Vogelbach as well.
  12. Until Carlos shows the power I can't see him being above Javy. I know it very well might come and if it does, yeah he's gonna be great. But, I just have to see some more of it. I understand that completely. There's not a uniform way to judge these guys obviously. Some people rank guys in the upper levels higher. Some rank on pure upside. Obviously some weigh floor more than others. Its fun to read the different takes of the main guys, because the only thing they agree on, is its certainly an inexact science.
  13. These guys put a ton of emphasis on defense. Lindor being a GG caliber guy, plus solid plate discipline, solid hit tool, and 10-15 HR power would make him a higher floor guy than Baez. Correa? Honestly, he's going to be [expletive] good. His ceiling may be as high as Javy's and he's got a much, much, much better idea of plate discipline at 18 than Javy did. Myself? I put Buxton at 1, followed by Correa, then Bogaerts, then Javy. 5th for me is Tavares, with 6-10 changing constantly.
  14. To qualify the guys I mentioned: Not my opinion whatsoever, its based on reading BA, BP, Law, Sickels, Fangraphs and guessing at how THEY look at these guys. Hulet was just straight up trolling on Baez today, as an example. And no, I don't think much of Hulet's opinion.
  15. He's gotta be a top five guy. He's taking walks now, has huge power, and plays short. Buxton, Bogaerts, Correa, Tavares will all be ranked higher. Bradley, Lindor, and Sano are possible as well.
  16. Not being on the 40-man, I don't think that was ever on the horizon. Unless there was some sort of understanding with him when we signed him. I'm pretty sure they wanted him up to get a look. I think his contract is complicated, if I remember correctly.
  17. Birch doubts we'll see Lim back to where he pitches in the majors this year.
  18. Contreras and Geiger have homers. Both borderline top 30 guys, I expect Contreras to show more next year.
  19. Lim has a right shoulder strain.
  20. Far more disappointed about Lim. Hope it's not serious. Seriously. I've been pretty pleased with the idea of a pen including Rosscup, Russel, Parker, Lim, Fujikawa, Strop and an addition or two. Not that its a big addition or anything, but with Guerrier having surgery today and missing 6-8 months, I fully expect him back on a minor league deal with incentives.
  21. Crap, I hope its not serious with Lim. I want to see him in the majors this year.
  22. I bet they sit around and flip coins to decide if the next move is a "try" or "tank" move.
  23. Sure looks that way. Baltimore can't be happy. Feldman hasn't pitched well at all and they've had bullpen problems.
  24. Getting him and Strop for Feldman was a hell of a return.
  25. Goony, you don't buy that the debt structure is currently keeping Theo from spending money in the way he'd prefer to?
