  1. The process is more fun this way Absolutely. This way our silver spoon fed billionaire kid owners don't have to ask daddy for more allowance money.
  2. 5 5 0 0 0 6 final line for Pierce. Daytona's starting pitching has been rather phenomenal. I hope the entire group moves to Tennessee to start next season .
  3. First, I truly have no idea if Ricketts actually will give them absolute flexibility to sign him or not. Unfortunately, we'll never know, unless we win the bidding. That said, if he did conceivably allow us to bid whatever, it'd be an absolute fail, to finish second. If the purse strings are loose, bid 70 mill and make sure you get him. With the teams likely to be involved, even with Tanaka being lesser than Darvish, I think the winning bid will be higher. Because the FA SP market coming up soon(and likely much longer) is weak and getting weaker. And if it takes 70? I'd grin and bare it, because at least we'd have gotten an age appropriate, long term front line SP.
  4. Crap, I forgot about him. He's in my 12-18 range with Hendricks, Vizcaino, Blackburn, Jimenez, and Torres as well.
  5. Hughes on a minor league deal and Sweeney at 3/15.....Complicated thought process, maybe Murphy on a 10 year, 12.75 mill deal, to lock up a bench spot long term? Or does it take him too far out of his prime? Would he even sign it? Risking his prime earning years in the process? Tough decisions abound at this stage of the rebuild, that's for certain!
  6. Hendricks? The guys I definitely have above him are Javy, Bryant, Almora, Soler, Alcantara, Edwards, PJ, Vogelbach, and Villanueva. Probably will put Olt and Candelario ahead of him as well. The group I'll be deciding on is Hendricks, Vizcaino, Blackburn, Jimenez, Torres(some won't rank these two at all obviously) and Zastryzny. So for me, he's likely going to wind up in the 12-17 range.
  7. It wouldn't surprise me if his command and/or control graded out as plus or even plus plus though.
  8. I think Law likes him a bunch. Parks and BA appear to be lowest on him.
  9. How excited should I be for this guy? It's always hard for me to tell with pitchers. Is AA where the stars and flame outs separate for pitchers as well? He's got the stuff. The concern is whether he can hold up. But there's plenty that think he can add another 20 pounds or so. I'm very excited myself. To me, it's a coin flip between him and Alcantara for 5.
  10. Mooney had an article yesterday on him that sounded like he didn't know what was going on. Even though Sceum has already said we're sticking with our current starters. Can't say I blame our FO. With Baker having subpar velocity to date, Rusin and Arrieta both pitching well and being controllable.....Don't see why we'd give Baker a month long audition for other teams. I don't mind bringing him back, but considering how this year went, he shouldn't get more than a mill or so, with incentives. Let him fight it out with our other guys for the 5th spot and add a solid guy who's much better than Baker somehow.
  11. So, consistently awesome. And getting awesomer.
  12. Edwards K's the side in the 1st, then......Wait for it.....Rain delay.
  13. Parks also said he'd take Bryant's bat over Abreu's.
  14. I hate to say it, but we barely need to add anything this offseason. We have a ton of pieces that need playing time to maximize their value. You talking pen or overall?
  15. Damn, love both moves. Side armed righty that throws 95? If he can stay healthy, Lim is a definite contributor next year. Bard? Change of scenery is needed obviously. It's possible we won't even need to add more bullpen help in the offseason. This has been one damn good makeover. Could be a big strength heading into next year.
  16. Really, is that true? Those two are the gift that keeps on giving for Toronto. Now they get to take postseason innings away from young pitchers. AA got thisclose to becoming an upper echelon GM, then shot his wad a year too early. Going to be tough for him now.
  17. Not sure how amped I should be on Blackburn. So I think I'm going to tell myself he was dominant until he was injured and just got fully healthy.
  18. I've read they were planning on getting him to a certain amount, then letting him loose next year. I think we would have heard if there was an issue with him.
  19. I can see the Marlins skimping out at 2, doubt the White Sox would at 3. If Rodon and Hoffman become a two man class, having 3 could be beneficial. I think we'll be fine picking anywhere inside the top 10 personally.
  20. Yeah, I think Baez will be the better player, but I can certainly see how a 19 year old that projects as plus or plus plus defensively. With a top of the order bat, double digit homer upside at the most important position on the diamond, can be considered safer than a guy like Baez, who DOES have a few more questions. It's not the end of the world if Lindor gets ranked 6th and Javy 9th. I really fail to see why there's been such a hang up over something this inconsequential. Neither is getting dealt, we're just going to have to watch it play out.
  21. Very happy to get a look at Rosscup, hope we see Lim somehow too.
  22. Olt's K rate normalized after his vision issues were corrected. His BABIP sucked out loud this year. This isn't a Brett Jackson scenario, in my mind. I think Olt will be a major league starter, while I'm thinking Felix Pie may have a better ML career than Brett does.
  23. I've said before there is a solid number of posters here that can give out the info Sickels does. Say what you want about Parks, he gives legit info and opinion that we can ALL learn from. Scouty type stuff that Sickels mentions he looks for, yet never mentions, sticking to numbers based stuff we all already know. I honestly don't think Sickels can break down a swing or pitching mechanics. Mike Newman(Scouting the Sally, Fangraphs, etc) has kind of mentioned as much. I understand Parks' personality may get on some nerves, but at least he's giving out stuff we don't already know.
  24. Dolis had been thought to be added by some, but he just left with an arm injury in his first rehab appearance.
  25. I was hopeful they'd bring him up, but I don't see it happening. Still think he'll be our Opening Day 3B next year though.
