  1. Part of the DLee to Atlanta trade.
  2. 6 1 0 0 2 2 for Black. Their SP has been utterly insane.
  3. 5 3 1 1 1 9 line for Blackburn.
  4. The size we have is going to make life hell on secondaries all year.
  5. I would disagree. The Hawks can fill the outfield void. Lockhart is nowhere as good defensively at short. His replacement might be better but Balaguert is arguably their best player. Raisin, that's likely true, but the last 3rd of their season, Penalver has out OPS'd Balaguert .904 to .700.
  6. It's been noticeable from the beginning of the season. Whoever that dude is that's been working with him has earned a big raise. That said, I didn't realize he's come THAT far as quickly as he has.
  7. Yeah, they'll put him in position to where if he does well, they can bring him up after the service time deadline passes. I don't see any other scenario unfolding actually.
  8. 7 3 0 0 1 7 final line for Pineyro.
  9. The return for Scott Hairston, ladies and gentlemen. Part of me thinks that's why Rizzo intercepted DeJesus from us being able to deal him to Tampa.
  10. Yeah, I'm thinly penciling in both Lim and Rosscup, along with Strop, Russell, Parker, and Villanueva for the pen next year. With the other spot coming from one of Arrieta/Grimm/Rusin/Rondon/Vizcaino/Rivero. And I like that, as a whole, even if there's not a single addition added to the mix.
  11. Arrieta may be best as a late inning arm for us. His numbers first time thru the order versus after is pretty startling. Bosio deserves a shot with him, but if he winds up as a late inning arm, I'm OK with it. I basically am hoping for one of him or Grimm to become a back end rotation piece.
  12. Pirates just DFA'd James McDonald. He's making 3 mill, is supposedly healthy again and would have two years of control remaining. Kind of wish we had room for him, just don't see it though.
  13. Losing Penalver right now really hurts. He had put up a .900 OPS in August. I think I'll give him serious consideration for my top 30.
  14. Damn, 2-2 take from Chavez on close pitch, with two outs, then gets a hit. Craziest thing to me, is as shitty as Petit is, he's been into the 8th before with a no-no.
  15. White Sox now 56-84, we're at 60-80, tied with Brewers. Twins are 61-79.
  16. 6.1 6 0 0 2 7 line for Maples tonight.
  17. I really don't see us signing another mid to back of the rotation type. If we add a SP, I think it'd be Tanaka or a trade for a TOR arm. We've got the numbers currently to throw out a 5 man rotation(with depth). I guess they could talk themselves into believing Josh Johnson could reclaim his former stuff, but outside of him, it's Tanaka or bust for FA. Unless they think Suk Min Yoon is more than a back end type.
  18. Some Boston guy insinuated to Sahadev he's been saying the same thing for 18 months.
  19. Hart would be interesting. With the scarcity of hitting available, he'd be a nice stopgap before some of our guys get to the majors.
  20. Giants are likely to put QO on Timmy. That would keep him there.
  21. It's Phil Rogers, but he brings up an excellent point in his most recent article. Addison Russell is on the Solar Sox, so Javy will be playing a bunch of 2B. Makes sense, especially if Bryant is ticketed for a lot of PT at 3B. Alcantara is starting to look like trade bait to me.
  22. :yahoo: Can you make us a 5 team trade involving the rooftop owners, Seattle Slew, the where's the beef lady, a pack of 1988 Score Baseball cards, and a bottle of Yoohoo? It'd make more sense than your response to this,
