  1. Villanueva with his 19th HR.
  2. 2 more starts, then he's getting shut down. Puig should catch him in WAR.
  3. If he blows away the AFL, it becomes a non zero chance, in my opinion, of him being in our Opening Day lineup. Even with our FO being extremely cautious.
  4. Yep, one of those days.
  5. He's making 1.9 mill this year and is arb eligible next year as well. I can see him going unclaimed.
  6. Double. And beaten to punch.
  7. Michael Young to the Dodgers for Rob Rasmussen. Looks like that's the last deadline move.
  8. Javy single, Villanueva walk(his second) their 3rd time thru.
  9. True, but he actually gets more Cub-related info than our own beat writers, who consistently have gotten beaten to the punch by national guys since Theo has taken over. At any rate, tonight(unless deadline has passed) is last shot to deal Gregg or Navarro.
  10. According to Nick Caffardo, Red Sox looking for a reliever, no interest in Gregg, who cleared waivers. Considering he's on a minor league deal, I'm surprised no one claimed him, even if it is Kevin Gregg.
  11. Olt went 3-4. I'm really hopeful this decent stretch for him gets him a September callup.
  12. Villanueva with his 41st 2B.
  13. It'll be interesting once we get reports on Paulino, Adzolay, and Frailin Figueroa, who's walking more but giving up less hits than Paulino and has a 1.27 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP at 18.
  14. Phil's signed him for 3 years and 12 mill total with an option. Injury issues knocked it down from 6/50 or so. Wow.
  15. Honestly, I don't want him back. Shark/Wood/E-Jax with one of Arrieta/Rusin/Grimm/Hendricks/Villanueva/Cabrera and hopefully Tanaka(doubtful) or Sung Min Yoon or Josh Johnson. Maybe Phil Hughes. At any rate, with the depth we have, the one FA SP we sign needs to be better than Baker.
  16. Alcantara 3B followed by a Javy sac fly.
  17. I think they WILL get one of Choo or Ellsbury. But unless we get lucky and the new posting system goes in place(which lowers amount going to team) I'm not getting my hopes high on Tanaka.
  18. His debut has sucked, no doubt. That said, Rivero struggled at first in Peoria this year as well and he had been in the states all offseason as well. Paniagua was rushed because of his visa problems and is scuffling for sure. With a normal offseason with DJ likely spending some time with him, I suspect he'll be just fine next year. The stuff is there(unlike Concepcion before someone brings him up) and 20 innings isn't nearly enough time to get an honest read on him. Sure,I'm disappointed, I'll drop him somewhat in my top 30, but he's still squarely one of our best pitching prospects. That won't change for me unless he bombs out next year.
  19. A .179 BABIP and a stabilizing K rate has me cautiously optimistic on Olt moving forward.
  20. I'm expecting Lim will get September to show us he's a guy we can pencil into our 2014 pen. I guess with Rivero heading to the AFL, his slight shot at doing the same moves back til Spring Training.
  21. Something I noticed yesterday......Jefferson Mejia was listed as being 6'7, 220 when signed in July. He's now listed at 6'0,175 on Milb. At this rate he'll be about a foot tall by the time he's ready for the majors. Seriously though, which is he?
  22. At least MLB's rankings may be worth looking at now. Their top 20's are pathetic.
  23. David, I haven't looked around PSD much recently, what did someone post that has you iffy on Javy?
  24. He's getting 400 at bats in the majors next year.(and will be our HR leader if he does)
