  1. The Dodgers TV deal alone pays them 230 mill or so a year. Thats not counting ANY other revenue streams they've got. They were making profits prior to the TV deal and the renovations they've been doing. I said when this group bought the team they'd have a 300 mill payroll within 5 years and I believe it now more than ever.
  2. To me, I've got Szczur in the 17-22 range right now and Rosscup outside my top 30. I think a 4th OFer is slightly more valuable than a LOOGY.
  3. I think Arrieta and Cabrera are both out of options, aren't they? I don't know whether either makes the rotation, but I do expect each to be on the staff. I think our offseason will be dictated partly by the renovations and whether or not we'll have extra revenue streams or not. If so, maybe the payroll goes up, if not, it stagnates or drops a bit more. Either way, we've got depth that makes it much easier to fill out a roster at this point.
  4. I honestly don't think they'll flinch, even if it takes 10/250 to sign him. The George-less Yankees are going to take a permanent backseat to the Dodgers, in my opinion.
  5. Cano is awesome, but he's going to want an ARod type deal, and he's going to be 31 (meaning his best years will likely be behind him). I'd pass regardless, but the Yankees are probably going to take him off the market before anyone else can make a bid anyway. I put Cano 3rd, although I think he's tge longest shot of anyone. That said, if the Yanks were going to sign him longterm prior to him hitting FA, it'd have been done already. Cano winds up a Dodger, if I'm placing bets.
  6. If he takes a Bourn type deal, I'm happy. But with the lack of FA available, I think he'll get 6/100 at least.
  7. Can one of you guys high on Ellsbury sell me on him? Because I see an oft-injured, speed guy who likely will start losing his main asset very soon. And the rest of his game doesn't translate to a corner.
  8. Cespedes translates to lawns, I see.
  9. His mechanics are problematic, though. You know area scouts are super pumped to get to go to Hawaii for him. True. Hey, see if you can word a version of my question to Kiley better. I wonder where Stewart would rank in this years prep class.....
  10. Kodi Medeiros is going to be awfully intriguing. Side-armed lefty that hits 95 with "whiffle ball" movement according to Piliere.
  11. For me, it's Tanaka/Abreu/Cano/Ellsbury/Choo. If we wind up with an unprotected pick, I'd cross Ellsbury and Choo off altogether, as I don't look at them as elite guys anyway.
  12. Good lord, it seems like every kid throwing is hitting 95. The prep arm class is [expletive] loaded.
  13. Rizzo/Alcantara/Lake for Stanton. 2016 opening day lineup of AlmoraCF/CastroSS/StantonRF/Baez2B/Abreu1B/Bryant3B/SolerLF/CastilloC.......
  14. Wonder if Rizzo could be the lead piece in a Stanton deal?
  15. Take Rizzo with you and let Rizzo tell him he'll move to LF or whatever. Other point remains though-Damn near every team in baseball will be in on him.
  16. I didn't realize he's 6'3, 240. After reading a Jonah Keri piece, 1B is it for him. But still, damn. Trade Rizzo, try him in the OF? Whatever. Go get this guy.
  17. Seeing some mentions on Twitter......Can he play anywhere other than 1B? If not, is it still worth it to go after him? Use Rizzo as bait for a frontline SP possibly? At any rate, this dude rakes. Best hitter in Cuba.
  18. I didn't post that out of fear of it turning into a 3 page battle between us over prospects.
  19. The Pirates supposedly offered Taillon/Polanco/Sanchez/Black for him at the deadline and were turned down. A package from us would start with Javy and Almora, plus more. I wouldn't do it, too many injury concerns, plus I expect Javy in the majors by August of next year anyway.
  20. I'm starting to believe, sample size be damned, that Junior Lake will be an everyday player for us next year. And a solid one, at that.
  21. Vitters may would have fared better under Theo, but Theo never would have passed on Wieters to take him anyway.
  22. Not that it really matters at this point. It definitely matters. I'd like to see him hit well for a few weeks, get called up, and hit well enough to where he could net us a bullpen piece or a lower level, relatively high upside type with some flaws. Honestly though, I think thats his best shot at helping us, at this point.
  23. In Iowa, we've got Hendricks. Cabrera too, albeit out of the pen now. No one at Tennessee that I care about, as far as starters go. Daytona is loaded with Pierce, CJ, Pineyro, and Black. KC has Rob Z, Skulina, and Scott. Boise has Paniagua, Blackburn, Underwood, Maples, Masek, Hoffner, and Frazier. Arizona has Leal, Torrez, and Clifton. Plus we have guys like Loux, Loosen, Jokisch, Peralta, Pugliese, Arias, Concepcion, and Conway to keep tabs on as well. With Adzolay and Figueroa putting up good numbers in the DSL and Tseng, Moreno, and Mejia all to dream on for next year. Everyone talks about how our pitching is weak-I bet if we were just ranking pitching prospects in the minors, our system is in the top 15.
