  1. Wondering that myself. It appears he made a rude comment towards Prior as one of the MC's said.."There is one in every crowd" Prior went on to say in the interview that he "sucked" last year and is making changes to improve this year and go back to what he was. Ted Lilly sounds like an accountant. Glad he is not paid to conduct steller interviews! After Kap or Waddle asked, can you tell us about how your feeling and your progress as you get ready for the new season. During the pause, some guy shouted something that sounded like (and I have been repeating it several times and I still can't decipher it). . "Esterberain". . Or a long "EssTRRRbRRAIN" If anyone wants to try, please go ahead. God this is like breaking a code. HesterBerrian?
  2. I kinda like PHON-SO, PHON-SO I'll stick with SO-RI-A-NO, similar to the Bulls chants of NO-CI-O-NI
  3. Just realized his mom is dead...didn't recognize that at first.
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=070116samardzija Good read. I've always thought Jeff would be leaning alot more to football secretly, but it truly sounds like he's torn and that we remain a strong possibility. Whoever Tommy is, keeping steering him our way. And he says his mom would probably want him a Cub...
  5. Is anyone else really excited about this guy for next year? I remember watching him in his starts he made last year and noticing he had a pretty wicked breaking ball that fooled hitters. If he can get his velocity on his fastball up (say 91-93ish), I think the sky is the limit for him. If he is healthy next year, what would you guess his line would be? I honestly think he could really surprise us and put up a mid 3 ERA, which could be huge for this rotation.
  6. I never realized just how bad Perez's numbers were until I looked them up. He is actually worse than Neifi. We need to put a treehouse sign outside of Wrigley with "No Perez's alowed" on it.
  7. This is completely random, but I used to be real good friends with Piggy's little bro (Tony). I know I have a autograph or two around from when we found out the Cubs drafted him. Definately would be cool to see him up in the big leagues...
  8. Saw that coming from a mile away... Yet I still  'd.
  9. Bad year last season and still put up an OBP in the .340's. In this market, i'd say this deal is a bargain.
  10. Didn't know you were a Realgm'er, Rammy. Your take on the Posey suspension? Yep, i'm "RyGuy24" over there, just became a RealGM about a month ago... As far as Posey, he's a scumball trashbag, but (I actually might be in the minority here) I think 1 game was about right. I've seen worse flagarants, but it's getting so obvious that all of these blows are intentional I could care less about how many games he's out so long as Big Ben let's him know who the paint belongs to next time he drives on us.
  11. I thought it was some sort of front office guy when I saw his name...
  12. This is just a rumor, but it's from a guy who's always around on this Bulls board that I'm always on, not a random troll or new guy. Take it for what it's worth, but he says the Sox are going after Tejada offering Fields and a pitching prospect. http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=606422
  13. ...for anyone who couldn't watch.
  14. That's alot of money for a guy who hasn't topped 88 in many of the games i've watched him. Would anyone really be surprised if Zito @ 17 per and Lilly@ 10 per both put up ERA's right around 4, give or take a few?
  15. My thoughts exactly. If someone wants to say ERA isn't a great stat then say that. Saying ERA doesn't mean jack when it comes to ERA is just self-contradicting unless i'm missing something. You are. He meant ERA doesn't mean jack in predicting the next year's ERA. An overstatement of a decent point. BABIP, WHIP, and K/BB are better in predicting "next years" performance. Thank you. That's all I was asking for.
  16. My thoughts exactly. If someone wants to say ERA isn't a great stat then say that. Saying ERA doesn't mean jack when it comes to ERA is just self-contradicting unless i'm missing something.
  17. If he says anything new give us an update please (if you're listening)
  18. I'm not sure I understand that statement. I'd say ERA is important when it comes to a players ERA
  19. Hypothetically speaking of course, as much as I love Z, you'd have to be pretty stupid not to pull the trigger on that deal (IMO). Doubt LAA would offer that much if we said he was available though.
  20. Just when I thought I could start relaxing on Christmas night... Of course it probably doesn't involve us, but you know everyone has that in the back of their mind. I did think Jimbo would pull one average to big sized trade this offseason though...(unless you count Cotts as big)
  21. I know people will bring out their career OBP's, but we did just add a guy who put up a .357 OBP last year, .351 OBP, and a .380 OBP (though in limited games). And this isn't counting in another aquisition in Ramirez who will give you a .350 plus OBP, and Lee who we didn't have for basically the entire year who will be good for .360 plus (conservative). Add in Barrett who's good for .350-.370. Murton who's good for .350-.370. I'm not thinking OBP will be as big of a problem as it was in previous years.
  22. Anyone think Huff could play right (if he hasn't already)? He's coming off a bad year, but at least in an off year he still put up a .344 OBP. If he were to come to Wrigley i'd wager he could be a .275 30-35 HR .350 OBP kind of guy. This obviously won't happen because we would have Pie blocked everywhere, but Huff could have a nice year and be a good lefty bat...(all of this assuming we could get something for Jones and a prospect).
  23. Can anyone give me info on Bucholtz and Hirsch? I really don't know anything about them.
