Wow your right: Thursday: GIDP with the bases loaded, botches a routine DP ball that results in the go ahead run scoring Friday: CS twice, including once at 3B where afterwards the circumstances led to the Cubs hitting a sac fly. Today: GIDP with the bases loaded in a situation to tie the game. He is killing us. Even when he is hitting at a passable level he is no more than a replacement level player. On top of that he doesn't even "play the game the right way" He just isn't very good. where are these 900 opsing replacement level shortstops and where can 25 teams in need of one find them? But Right, one would be foolish to assume he won't keep producing at that level and even when he stops he will stillmake dumb play after dumb play. so again, you're bashing him because he will be hurting the team in the future... good to get a head start i guess.

    It's going to get ugly, thats for sure. Luckily Ronny is trying his best to force Lou's hand. Next weekend I had better see a lineup like this Lou: Soriano Cedeno Lee ARam Fukudome Soto DeResoa Pie i hate it too that his .337/.406/.465 line has impeded this offense in comparison to Ronny's .375/.432/.575, yeah, it has a little. what an incredibly asinine reason to bash someone. they've been playing concurrently much of the time but that probably doesnt matter for your ridiculous argument.

    Don't tell them that. DBacks fans will tell you that theirs is the toughest division. Ah yes, home of the 5-team division with 4 teams below .500. Of course I'm embellishing a bit due to the early season, but from a winning % perspective, the NL West is technically the worst division in baseball right now See, this is why we need Meph and his Markov chains. The NL West is definitely not the worst division. They have 4 legit winning record teams (and one legit 100 loss team). Where the hell have the sample size police gone with everyone going crazy and drawing insane conclusions about this very young season. I hate the Giants offense as much as anybody else here, but their pitching is far too good to lose 100 games. I'm thinking they lose fewer than 90.

    When you bat a guy leadoff, you are making sure they get the most PAs of anyone. Not if they miss a month. To make sure he'd get the most at bats of anyone on the team at this point you'd have to bench Lee for an equivalent amount of time. ;) Or just get rid of Lee. It's my firm belief that Soriano will be Lee's replacement at 1B. It's just a question of when. I actually like the idea of trading Lee if he has a huge year. His trade value would be high enough to get a real nice corner OF to replace Soriano, and putting Sori at 1B would keep him healthy, I hope. no trade clause

    you're looking too closely at the numbers in this case. his swing and approach is enormously different than it was in 06 and the start of 07. he's not lunging after every pitch indiscriminately. but if you were to look at the numbers, his BB:K in AAA last year, the AFL and the majors thus far this season have all been a dramatic improvement (70:99 combined) from his 06 atrocities.
