    2 instead of 1, but whose counting? i guess i should be concerned your evaluations and predictions are always so spot on Thats only because Kosuke is a good baseball player where as Soriano is not.

    If Soto's foot doesn't catch Paulino's? If Soto's passed ball doesnt lead to a run? (I'm not trying to pick on Soto, I swear) If our best starter pitched like an ace? If our best reliever pitched like the shutdown pitcher he is? There are a lot of what ifs. It's really not a big deal. Teams lose games all the time. This particular loss we just happened to have multiple failures from our normally reliable players. then we might possibly have another notch in the win column and win the division by 9 games instead of 8 or whatever

    No, it's ok. They gave up the best pitcher on the planet and got Carlos Gomez. Did you know he hit for the cycle?!?!!?!!11!!11!!1!!!ONE! kind of early to make a judgment on this trade, most of the players havent even made the majors yet the Twins had zero leverage and probably made out with a really good haul considering. the other offers of Hughes and Melky or Lester, Masterson and Crisp certainly don't look any better. Santana was due for a 20m+/year extension and would only approve trades to a few teams. they could have done far worse.

    what's more impressive Bourn's 36/37 SB% the last two years in only 284 PA or He still has an everyday job with .522 OPS

    articles in the TB newspapers at the time suggested the Rays were heavily considering taking Harvey #1 overall. Lou said he had never seen somebody put on such a power display in batting practice.

    McCracken, Tippett, Woolner, Studeman. now i dont completely agree with it, to tell you the truth. but there's also problems in the definition as well. thats more of an argument for a different topic.

    i agree, that is cause for concern. but i dont see the fiasco of allowing Hill to figure out his release point at AAA because i really am not worried about whether we'll take the division. Hill is a guy we will lean on the playoffs.

    yes, and the high slugging is fueled by the high BA, fueled by a high BABIP. and I like Hill too. not sure where the dichotomy appeared.

    how are they not? his previous worst for the past 5 seasons was .305. his FIP's actually as good as it's ever been.

    those stats (save bb:k) are skewed in part by a .356 BABIP, good for 7th worst in all of baseball
