  1. should have traded for Kitna too, heh
  2. if we could pull off a trade like that for Drew i would personally rub him down with Bengay after every game
  3. with the godawful hitters behind Dawson in the lineup for most of his career, you can't really blame him for never walking
  4. Meph will be pulling a Paul Reubens on opening night
  5. i don't think much of Nashville at all; they'll have good play from their D men as always but shaky goaltending and an impossible time putting the puck in the net. that's not even to mention the distraction of the Radulov debacle the Oilers, Coyotes and Kings are the teams i'm most interested in seeing this year for the development of their younger players, aside from NY of course
  6. Do you have him in your top 10? yeah, i have higher hopes for him than guys like Flaherty, Rhee and Colvin
  7. you're right, i completely misremembered that for a moment at any rate, they were still a 1-win team the previous season
  8. i guess i think more highly of Brandon Guyer than essentially everyone else
  9. unless you're 25 and have scoliosis
  10. I agree. They have a lot of holes to fill and only after a couple drafts will they then get filled. And they are missing key elements to a team, not just quantity. LT/QB/RB(Kevin Smith?)G's. Entire DL except for Redding, CBs. the Panthers were an expansion team and made it to the SB in their 2nd year. with the likely #1 pick and 4 more 1st day picks you can reasonably expect with a decent GM to get 5 starters and with the cap space another 3-5 through FA. it's really not improbable (assuming Marinelli's canned) that they could be a factor in the division next season. unless they take a QB with the #1, or retain Mayhew.
  11. and extremely questionable he'd ever have such a high ratio of walks
  12. i don't think any of the three things you just said are going to go over very well
  13. wow - Swedish defector Fabian Brunnström scored a hat trick in his first career NHL game
  14. i'm laying the odds at 5:3 of any fight to involve Carcillo
  15. list of Padres players more than 50% of NSBB knows the name of: Peavy Khalil Greene ...
  16. if it features Youkilis at the top i'll lash out in a violent manner reminiscent of Kurt Russell in 3000 Miles to Graceland
  17. hell, even Kosuke's playerID is higher than Iwamura's
  18. i had a fun time watching that game again; Prior was making Fins look like fools and the crowd was raucous wasn't able to catch anything after the 8th inning though, so i'll assume they held on
  19. if he gives you full effort, which he will for Dallas, he's a Michael Irvin-type talent they overpaid, but he's really elite
  20. thats kind of a dumb comparison really dumb
  21. Arlington just turns hitters into OPS gods like Milton Bradley, who had an OPS last year of 1004 and Hamilton who had 922 OPS ...for different teams before the season, scouts were raving about a former #1 pick's talent, with some predicting he could hit 40 or 50 HRs this year. he ain't 2000 Jeffrey Hammonds Arlington helped him hit 72 HRs or whatever in the HR derby too I guess
  22. Alex Cherepanov, one of the brightest prospects in hockey, died today at age 19, reportedly after colliding with Jagr and collapsing on the bench what an unspeakable tragedy
  23. well, his first two full seasons were decent, too. It's bizarre that he has managed to stay in the league this long without having an above average offensive season this decade. It's obvious that you are unfamiliar with Darin Erstad's punting prowess. oh lord someday i'd love to get an explanation for this: sportswriters mentioning that he was a punter all the time = insufferable amateur comedians making the same tired stupid jokes endlessly = yuck yuck! ??
  24. i can buy your premise that Hamilton's a fraud whose myth is propped up by Arlington well, until i take a quick perusal at last year's numbers and realize he had a friggin great year where he played not one game in Arlington i feel like Kurt Russell and everyone else's infected with an unwavering slavery to home/away splits
