  1. "but why do you even ponder passing??"
  2. http://gif.mocksession.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/THE-MORTIFIED-PUNTER1.gif
  3. i still can't get over that 3rd down spike
  4. i'm losing my mind about that, play calls don't get more predictable than the QB draw they're running on every single 3rd down
  5. don't you mean Pettigrew? he got the ball taken out of his hands
  6. i blame nickelback.
  7. oh good, we're down 14 points so Stafford can finally start playing well
  8. if you get calls like that and the PI where the receiver wasn't obstructed whatsoever going against you, it's just not humanly possible to beat Aaron Rodgers
  9. Lawrence Jackson ruled out, damn
  10. yeah, that was pretty unbelievable the refs could somehow overlook that
  11. i keep reading Withey as Whitey
  12. how many dirty plays or cheap shots were there in the teams' two meetings last season?
  13. even funnier was Raftery and Bilas' merciless ripping on Joshua Smith for being so obese
  14. yes
  15. i think Duke is shooting 100% from 3
  16. i was curious to see what became of the picks... the three picks sent to Denver were used to select Robert Ayers, Mike Wallace, Anthony Davis unrelated, the 2nd rounder sent to Tampa for Gaines Adams was used to select Rob Gronkowski
  17. Mike Ilitch offered Carl Pavano some Little Caesars franchises during FA negotiations in the 04-05 offseason
  18. i've got a pretty good feeling about this game Fairley and Suh were dominating in the Panthers game, and the one proven sure way to slow an elite passer is to collapse the pocket; if Young & LoJack can suit up too, it'll go a long way toward being able to consistently do that K-Smoove's re-emergence could be huge, in that our perfunctory play action attempts won't be so laughable anymore CAN'T WAIT
  19. mortreport Chris Mortensen #Bears want veteran backup with experience in Martz offense . Leading candidates: JT O'Sullivan & Josh McCown.
  20. which he was; he's only the 2nd pitcher ('09 Greinke) to lead his league in bWAR since the turn of the millenium
  21. love to see: a dominating win over a top-10 team don't love to see: those hideous honolulu blue shoes and striped socks we were wearing
  22. A headline on deadspin this morning is: "For Some Bizarre Reason, A Jay Cutler Injury Is Shocking News" There will be a perception of Cutler as soft. I guess I'm looking at this from the perspective of a Bears fan, so yeah, I guess non-Bears fan aren't going to pay as much attention to them as I do, but I had no idea Cutler being easily injured was a "thing." They're acting like last year was his rookie season or something. Cutler being durable was a thing, but then came the concussion, knee and now thumb. It will become a thing. So dumb. "QUARTERBACK SACKED AN INSANE AMOUNT OF TIMES! UNRELATED: IS EASILY INJURED!" i'm going to ask this question with what i hope is an un-antagonistic tone why does it matter, even in the slightest? rationally, you know he's playing whenever the medical team clears him, the fans aren't booing him, and Angelo basically staked his reputation on that trade so that you know he'll never become trade-bait, so the public perception is effervescently meaningless. but you guys are getting all Peter Cetera over him, like he's your little sister or something. the old meme here was that Stafford was the glass cannon and the new meme is that Suh's a dirty player*, both of which i disagree with and i guess i'll argue about it a little bit but i don't really care that much if some people have misapprehension about football players on my team *Fairley is, though
  23. good for him, he deserved it but you gotta feel for Ellsbury, who couldn't possibly have done anything more to help his team, and probably lost it due to circumstances outside of his control (much like Bautista, i guess) seeing Michael Young get a first place vote was a real wtf moment though
  24. I see Hanie/Palmer as a push at worst. I'm starting Hanie in fantasy this week and I suggest you all do the same. not that i doubt Hanie will be the next Tom Brady, but this is a gross matchup for a QB in his first career start, as the Raiders might be the best team in the league at getting to the QB
  25. there's a great writeup on fangraphs about Garza's breakout
