    using zips' ROS (.274/.341/.499), he could still play -15 defense in LF and be an above-average starter over a full season my growing suspicion is that there's enough sorcery to Sveum's shifts (which have rated Soriano the best fielder in baseball, per UZR) that would cover up some of LaHair's limitations now i'd still be fine with trading him, but i think you're underestimating how bad the offensive climate is in the MLB now, mojo

    worth noting is that the Trop is one of the most pitcher-friendly parks; adjusting for park factors, that line (conceivably) becomes .265/.352/.430 if he'd played half his games in Wrigley

    good argument. you responded to a guy saying he'd be an above average hitter in LF, and a below average fielder, saying you were unsure even about the first part average for LF this year is .316 wOBA, which again he's projected to exceed by a significant margin

    i really believe there's going to be a huge difference in contracts, which makes Anibal more appealing; you can probably fit him and BJ Upton into your budget for close to what it'll take to sign Hamels if teams really do go crazy for Anibal though, i'd be more than happy picking up Edwin Jackson; he'll probably be bargain basement again, and you can conceivably fit he, Upton, S. Drew all in for the price of just Hamels fWAR since 2009: C. Hamels: 13.6 M. Cain: 13.2 E. Jackson: 12.0 (19th-best) J. Shields: 11.1 M. Garza: 10.8

    the Lilly trade was not very good for us at the same time, the Pirates were able to pry away James McDonald (27 yo, 3.84 ERA with Pittsburgh) for Dotel; was never really too pleased about it

    again, I apologize for only basing it on the 4.20 starters era, good for 12th in NL. (actually now it's 4.04 after today's game, good for 11th). huh...ERA, why not wins-losses?

    They have? From bukie's thread on April performance... That's in April... their performances in May certainly have done nothing to make them worse. jersey has two grading scales for rotations: 97 braves, and "mediocre"
