  1. November 2011, I don't think you found many people on here who could imagine throwing away 2 years either. I think most sensible people could. inherited players under contract for 2013: Soriano, Garza, Castro, Marmol, Barney, Soto, Randy Wells, Shark, Castillo, Dewitt, Clevenger, James Russell (and Jackson, Vitters, ...) that group of misfits just combined for 14(!) WAR this year, so the FO would just need to buy...33 more wins and we could possibly sneak our way into a wild card spot!
  2. it's a blatant distortion completely void of any shred of intellectual honesty or as i call it for the sake of brevity, "typical kyle post"
  3. He signed for five offseasons and we're halfway through the second. Clock's ticking to not be the Pirates. TIL 36 days is half a year He meant half an offseason, which is still disingenuous at best. OK my mistake, i hadn't really realized that Theo goes water skiing in Cape Cod Bay all spring and summer long; seems like a weird contract stipulation

  5. [expletive] FINALLY you are starting to realize the gaping pit of emptiness that was left over from the previous regime, and the unavoidable long-lasting effects it will have [expletive] everything

  8. this is kinda gross
  9. PFF seemed to be a big fan of Carimi at guard yesterday
  10. in a perfect world, we could even swap Castro for Baez, and even include Soler if the Fish insist, given their earlier presumed interest this also seems more like the Marlins modus operandi for firesales, preferring the high-ceiling prospect (Miller, Maybin, Hanley, Marisnick) who's yet to reach the majors (read: league minimum)
  11. he's also not very good at observation PFF:
  12. Lions need to lose some more games, i really want Milliner now (and Bacarri Rambo in rd. 2)
  13. And Garza. And Barney. And the trade bait that got Rizzo, Wood, Torreyes, Vizcaino and Lout. And that 4-win LFer we put out there. And the entire low minors draft class that owned the NWL lists. But other than a middle infield, a middle-of-the-order bat, three-fifths of a rotation, a bunch of trade bait and a wave of prospects, there was a completely blank slate for St. Theo to work his magic. On the Fangraphs top 15, our current regime inherited 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 15. And it didn't exactly take a wizard to turn the top two draft picks into top-15 organizational guys. It speaks more of our current regime that nearly every worthwhile major leaguer is a legacy. i like this constant distortion where whenever the Theo regime turns a mediocre reliever into a frontline starter or damaged goods into a franchise player, full credit goes to Hendry for giving him that player- "we traded Greg Rohan for Tommy Hanson? well done, Hendry!" and what a laugh, seeing Barney as like the third name listed..."i fully stocked the cupboards for you; there should be a can of Hormel chili and maybe a granola bar in there"
  14. yeah, he was clearly on tilt there
  15. but we weren't smart, employed Jim Hendry for way too long and had extremely little in the way of a foundation to build on so here we are this is crying over spilt milk
