  1. i would love that
  2. it's probably a good sign that the starter everybody's eager to replace has a 3.24 ERA and is top-25 in K-rate
  3. he wasn't mentally prepared for the letdown
  4. he didn't get the pillow gift he had really wanted and lashed out i think
  5. Since Theo took over, when people would ask me, I'd say it would be a few years before the Cubs were good. Then over the past couple years I'd say they should start being competitive in 2015. So naturally, last year I would say "they should be pretty good next year." "LOL! Next year! Typical Cubs fan, you've been saying that every year." So in answer to your question, I'm not lonely, I *choose* to not have friends. i've gotten the bolded a few times, and then i'll rhetorically ask them when was the last time they remember me saying that but you guys are weird, i love talking baseball IRL with anybody who's into it; you don't have to be a total nerd about your opinions anyway, here's WP chart NSFJ(ake) http://i.imgur.com/005Uqg4.png Pirates were at 94.8% after the Kang 2B (are his HR Kang Dangs?)
  6. i don't think Montero was particularly focused on expanding the Cubs social media footprint, he was just being silly and unassuming, and that's mostly why it's so great
  7. I do get it that if it is fun for the young guys on the team then fine, it really is about them. Still, I do fondly remember a simpler time when we didn't feel the need to name every [expletive] thing we're feeling in the form of a tidy social media slogan. And stay off my lawn while you're at it. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51O%2Bjr05bML._SL500_AA280_.jpg
  8. that's true, soon he'll start to hit HRs too not bashing your sig because soler is awesome and so is the hashtag but just pointing out this is an example of why i hate commemorative patches (i think i had a mini-rant on my irrational hate for them before) soler is obviously playing for a [expletive] 2014 team there!
  9. what happened with this guy? he was mocked early teens forever and now he's a 2nd rounder
  10. http://clickcited.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/dark-side.gif (that should say dong power)
  11. Cubs hitters are 2nd in NL for BB% (Dodgers) Cubs pitchers are 2nd in NL for BB% (Mets) Cubs hitters are 3rd in NL for WAR (Dodgers, Padres) Cubs pitchers are 2nd in NL for WAR (Nationals) #wearegood
  12. in 10 days Grimm might be deployable which is why we should have been leaning more heavily on Strop & Rondon...let them go 2 innings on occasion or be put into earlier high-leverage situations; you can back off when reinforcements come, that is unless Ramirez is toast, i guess
  13. that's true, soon he'll start to hit HRs too
