  1. his surname is actually Soler but i mistake the two all the time
  2. Would he have less of a cannon if there is a play at other bases? no those are his arm kryptonite bryant's elbow automatically explodes if he throws from cf to 1b don't tell the pirates it doesn't benefit us one bit to [expletive] announce that to the [expletive] other teams that we're playing
  3. to that end. What could work is a video montage of several Cubs (mostly) legends leading the stretch edited together, and maybe one clip of Harry at the end with the let's get some runs part. Yes, this. Fit in the various other Cubs announcers besides Harry who have done it, too. Harry: "alright, let me hear ya...a-one, a-two, a-three..." *other Cubs legends stretch montage* Harry: "1-2-3 strikes you're out at the old ball game, let's get some runs" seems about perfect
  4. Or because of the weird dimensions of PNC, Joe feels that LF is harder to play there. Whatever the case may be at least KB has a cannon if there is play at 3rd Would he have less of a cannon if there is a play at other bases? no those are his arm kryptonite
  5. i imagine the rationale was he'd be running with the pitch so a better baserunner can more likely score on something in the gap
  6. Tigers do video board stuff with Ernie Harwell and it's cool and people like it and nobody has an issue with it; you guys are just doing weirdly overly-imaginative projecting
  7. i highly doubt that, it'll likely just be TLS drawing some platoon starts over Russell
  8. Probably? I'm fine with Bryant in CF, but was kind of surprised at the lack of response to pulling one of our best hitters so Travis Wood can pinch run, and only then when it became a 3-2 count. that's always justifiable to me, because if we reach the point where that matters it's a good thing, but i realize that might not be the most nuanced way to view the situation
  9. Rafael Soriano should probably keep his phone close by
  10. that guys really seemed like the kind of psychopath that enjoys watching death videos
  11. Fowler acted like his groin was no big deal, so I seriously doubt this is long term. they just want him to get the positional eligibility in fantasy
  12. http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/2014-08/21/11/enhanced/webdr01/anigif_enhanced-buzz-4675-1408633642-41.gif
  13. i [expletive] loved Harry growing up and you can never take that away from me
  14. i would love that
  15. it's probably a good sign that the starter everybody's eager to replace has a 3.24 ERA and is top-25 in K-rate
  16. he wasn't mentally prepared for the letdown
  17. he didn't get the pillow gift he had really wanted and lashed out i think
  18. Since Theo took over, when people would ask me, I'd say it would be a few years before the Cubs were good. Then over the past couple years I'd say they should start being competitive in 2015. So naturally, last year I would say "they should be pretty good next year." "LOL! Next year! Typical Cubs fan, you've been saying that every year." So in answer to your question, I'm not lonely, I *choose* to not have friends. i've gotten the bolded a few times, and then i'll rhetorically ask them when was the last time they remember me saying that but you guys are weird, i love talking baseball IRL with anybody who's into it; you don't have to be a total nerd about your opinions anyway, here's WP chart NSFJ(ake) http://i.imgur.com/005Uqg4.png Pirates were at 94.8% after the Kang 2B (are his HR Kang Dangs?)
  19. i don't think Montero was particularly focused on expanding the Cubs social media footprint, he was just being silly and unassuming, and that's mostly why it's so great
  20. I do get it that if it is fun for the young guys on the team then fine, it really is about them. Still, I do fondly remember a simpler time when we didn't feel the need to name every [expletive] thing we're feeling in the form of a tidy social media slogan. And stay off my lawn while you're at it. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51O%2Bjr05bML._SL500_AA280_.jpg
  21. that's true, soon he'll start to hit HRs too not bashing your sig because soler is awesome and so is the hashtag but just pointing out this is an example of why i hate commemorative patches (i think i had a mini-rant on my irrational hate for them before) soler is obviously playing for a [expletive] 2014 team there!
