  2. 2015-16 college basketball top 25: An extremely early look http://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2015/4/6/8356739/2015-2016-college-basketball-early-ranking-top-25-north-carolina-kentucky-virginia B1G well-represented
  3. Jake Arrieta had a 4.75 career FIP, and at age 28 season: 2.26 bosio dust maybe
  4. YCPB @cantpredictball From 01-04, Bonds had 367 PAs with a base open. He walked 244 times, 205 intentionally. .364/.785/.851. YCPB @cantpredictball Perhaps our favorite—Bonds’ 1.422 OPS in 2004 is higher than what going 2-5 with a single and homer every day would get you.
  5. Extending the game? If Duke scores, you're down 5 with about 15 seconds left. eh, 35 seconds is basically 15 seconds for Wisconsin anyway with how totally ill-prepared they are for any type of hurry-up situation; should've defended and played for overtime it just didn't make sense for even a moment
  6. what the [expletive] was Bo Ryan doing to foul down 3 with some time to spare?
  7. Jered Weaver topped 85 just once today
  8. Mookie Betts homering off Cole Hamels seems oddly apropos
  9. Kyle Lohse - Kyle Kendrick is an actual opening day matchup
  10. this already assumes a player wasn't promising enough to be selected in 10 full rounds of drafting the bolded happens all the time with non-IFAs, with the Matt Szczur / Michael Taylor / Kendall Gravemans of the world
  11. Pretty sure we had this come up in the last couple of years. The response was basically "we're not going to have an active player not available to any team for a year" so the player was shoehorned, I think into the prospect draft. Wish I could remember who it was. I agree with your post, and we could undo Olivera if we give Brian his 2nd option before someone else drafts that player. Olivera signed March 24th, and this draft started March 29th, so i don't see why that pick would be invalid
  12. I'm trying to figure out what that means without the context of the rest of the conversation. The only thoughts that are popping up have dubious relevance to baseball, though. they spotlighted Martin pointing to emphasize locations, like making Hutchinson sure to keep the breaking ball low, but it was mostly a silly tangent
  13. common sense basically dictates only three options IFA signed before start of MLB draft - goes into MLB draft - must stay on roadkill MLB roster all season IFA signed after start of MLB draft, before start of MiLB draft - goes into MiLB draft - can be put on roadkill MiLB roster if player is in minors IFA signed after start of MiLB draft - goes into next year's MLB draft
  14. Jays announcer thinks "Russell Martin's fingers are even more important than his framing"
  15. well that escalated quickly
  16. i'm just saying it's just illogical to arbitrarily throw him in the MiLB draft
  17. he's still throwing tons of breaking balls, seems like he's testing fate with that elbow but then again, aren't all pitchers oh hey it looks like it only took 2 PA for Jose Reyes to injure himself

  19. also, the bullpen impressed 4-2/3 IP 2 H 0 R 2 BB (1 BB) 5 K
  20. i'd be surprised, Duke mostly just seems like a lesser version of UK to me
  21. i'm a little heartened that we forced the Cardinals to throw 157 pitches, and were constantly in full counts (where league average OPS is ~.800) that approach didn't really bear fruit last night but you really know this will be a much more dangerous offense than we've been accustomed to
  22. there is no earthly reason Kang should be in the minor league draft Ryu was in MLB draft and their situations are 100% analogous
  23. sneakypower

    Week 1

i don't see why, you're allowed 2 relief appearances per day
  24. ''I think we'll see a little feast or famine out of the Cubbies this year, huh?''
