  1. that's a convenient assumption, but FG favors us (53% - 44%) and BP has the two teams as equals (56%)
  2. t feels like just a few months ago you said you'd gladly trade organizations with LAA; maybe it was longer, i dunno, i can't remember everything since their steamrolling that resulted in 0 playoff wins, they traded their 5-win 2B for a pitching prospect, which leads one to wonder if they do in fact have a limited budget they have roughly $95M committed next year to... Pujols - 1.8 WAR for the last calendar year CJ Wilson - 1.2 Jered Weaver - 1.9 Hamilton - a member of the Texas Rangers organization so they're set up pretty well to squander the prime years of a generational/all-time great player; if that's not worthy of derision, then i guess not really anything is
  3. leads MLB hitters in BB/K and OBP
  4. SSR coveting the Angels leadership is one of the funniest things to me on here they'll just write off those bad contracts
  5. i like Trey Flowers & Grady Jarrett here but i think odds are better they go with PJ Williams, who they had in for a visit, if he lasts to this spot
  6. for lake? i see different numbers on fg his 50 AAA plate appearances this season
  7. 69% contact on pitches out of the zone, and 63% on pitches in the zone i don't know how that's possible
  8. Zac Rosscup, Now Featuring a Faster Slider
  9. their #6 starter (Gonzales) is also on the DL but Tim Cooney can be a capable back-end type
  10. Strop had sore foot today but expects to be available tomorrow
  11. Phil Coke throwing to David Ross, i guess this isn't a game we want to win
  12. You're telling people you know better than them and then changing the issue when they're asking you to show your work. It's bizarre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overconfidence_effect
  13. That's the "Hmm, maybe you should start listening to people who understand contact rate and what it means better than you" argument. But you won't, and that's OK I guess. Lead a horse to water and all. It's pretty breathtaking that you found a way to take a topic that we directionally agreed on(Junior Lake is not good) but not necessarily in magnitude and extrapolate it into intellectual superiority over a tangential and much broader topic. Well done. I'm *trying* to get you to listen and not do the condescending "lol, Kyle being Kyle" [expletive], because there's an interesting discussion to be had. But you turned it into yet another NSBB [expletive] riff, just like you did then. Don't start the condescension if you don't want it thrown back. And you did this by posting this: I'm telling myself it's SSS combined with he appears to be affected by the cold more than other guys But velocity off the bat! "i'm right and you're wrong" ... "why doesn't anybody want to have meaningful conversation with me???"
  14. I love how it never even occurs to you that I might understand the issue better than you do. Remember when I tried to explain to you that all those things Junior Lake was doing well were flukes? Fluke, fluke, unsustainable fluke, yes. yeah, there i argued he would be a high BABIP player and he has a .331 career BABIP and ZiPS projects him for a .331 BABIP which is 95th percentile
  15. ok show me right here and now where it supports what you're saying about speed-off-bat data i'll leave you some time for quick, hopeful Googling Not my job. If someone wants to assert that velocity off the bat predicts future success, and I doubt it, it's not on me to disprove it. and there it is.
