For content, I like Boog just fine. What I'm missing is in the moments when I feel tense, I want that reflected in the broadcast. Len did that, Pat does it, etc. During the lead- up to the trade deadline, when the season seemed to hinge on pivotal points in each game, Boog was just completely dispassionate. Drives me nuts.
Caissie has the kind of power where it can look like a well-hit double off the bat but it just goes over the wall. I'm very happy they didn't trade him.
Excellent stuff. I was really hoping to see Caissie get bumped to Iowa following the deadline/Velazquez getting shipped. After cutting his K-rate, I'm not sure what's left for him to do in AA.
Very excited at the idea of a adding a young, rookie LH power hitter to an burgeoning offense in Chicago.
I said last year, and nothing has changed, that I think they will sign Ohtani. As horrible as Ricketts is, it makes complete business sense to spend here, and the fact that they've been targeting supplemental pieces with everything pointing toward 2024 tells me Shohei is the prize they're after.
While I still lean toward selling, I do think sending Smyly and Mancini to the phantom IL and adding a good SP at the deadline would make this team a pretty viable threat. Arguably the best 1-2 SP tandem in the NL and a pretty versatile lineup sets up well in the playoffs. Just dug such a big hole....
