I'm confused. They just traded for Candelario, worth a full win more than Alonso this season. Would you rather they had given up better prospects?

Alzolay has looked shaky for a bit now, but that was on the offense. Getting their starter to 36 pitches in the 1st should have been the beginning of the end, even though the offense didn't score. Instead, the offense got aggressive with a wild pitcher, and let him get into the 5th.

When JD leaves, it will cut deep. He's as good as it gets. Boog is great at what he does, but I can tell that he told Marquee "I'm not going to pretend to be a Cubs fan" and they said "OK".
