  1. Congrants, Careless; You made me laugh so hard I spit up soda on my keyboard.
  2. Best part of that game? We were in first place in the Central at the end of it :D
  3. It's okay. I'm still ticked we wasted prospects on Heredia and Karchner, when Randy Johnson and Mike Piazza were both available that summer.
  4. Clemens was the best picther in the league this year, but I have never been impressed with Willis. Maybe it's because the Cubs paste him every time we see him. I have no idea how he wins as many games as he does. Carpenter is a very good pitcher as well. Congrats to him. Nice cap to a nice comeback story.
  5. I was there with my dad. It was oppresively hot that night in the upper deck. No breeze, high humidity, and tempers were running high. Someone threw a golf ball at Angel Hernandez after calling Coomer out at home earlier in the game I remember Todd Helton hitting a ball that still might not have landed yet out to left, and I remember going nuts at that ending. I also very nearly got into a fistfight with some drunk on the el, because he nearly knocked a 9 year old girl onto the track because he was shoving his way to the front. Good times.
  6. What he said. Name the last time Hendry traded the best prospect in the organization and got fleeced. (no, the Dontrelle trade does not qualify) who did the karchner for garland trade? i cant remember if it was hendry or MacPhail. That was Ed Lynch.
  7. I'd be afraid to get him, because he'd provide Dusty the perfect left handed LF to "platoon" with Murton.
  8. We discussed it in another thread but it's probably just posturing.
  9. I'll give it a shot. Got it. Thanks for the help! I hope it's what you were looking for. It was kinda hard to figure out all the FA's and their VORP.
  10. Dopirak, Hill and Harvey gets it done. Not that I really, really want it to get done.
  11. One thing Hendry doesn't generally do is play his cards close to the vest when going after someone. The only reason the Lee trade was such a surprize is because the deal with Baltimore fell through. I remember that. At the time I think we were all arguing because some thought Lee could even have been non tendered by FL.
  12. I'd rather show interest than play cards too close to the vest. That way, you avoid looking too indifferent. Of course, for all we know Hendry's going to offer him 4/$44m tomorrow.
  13. If he's gonna look for like 3/$36, hendry is making a foolish move in not going after him. That's way lower in years and dollars than any of us thought here.
  14. Bingo. We have a winner. I'll even be generous and tell Florida they can have 2 pitchers-Mitre, and one of the Rule 5 eligibles. Anything more than that, and they can suck wind.
  15. Pierre isn't really worth more than Patterson and Mitre.
  16. I think it would be a great deal for the Sox. It opens up a spot for McCarthy, and Helton would be a much better offensive threat in that lineup
  17. I said this in another Pierre thread, but if all we give up for Pierre is Corey and maybe one of the bulk arms, I'd do it.
  18. I agree. It would signifigantly help the offense to have those 2 guys in front of Lee and Ramirez all season. Could Barrett bat 5th?
  19. That still means it's a crappy deal. We'd eat salary for Neifi Perez? We'd have to pick up most of it.
  20. He's going to be very hard to deal with his salary now.
  21. Oh yeah. Would you take: Pierre Perez Lee ARam Matsui Murton Barrett Cedeno Over Furcal Pierre Lee ARam Mench Murton Barrett Perez In 2 shakes. The other good thing about Matsui possibly hitting the open market is that it might depress the bidding for Giles, with another top corner OF available.
  22. No way this happens. This has to be posturing, trying to get more money out of NY. Cause if it's not, we need to be on this.
  23. Remember being optimistic about Brownlie, Ryu, Guzman, Pinto and Sisco? We'll be lucky if one of them gets to our big league club. Well, we know one of those pitchers is major league caliber... Brownlie? I still have hopes... :D
