  1. No, that was Willie Mays Hayes.
  2. As a catcher of many different types of pitchers, how difficult is the preparation in going from one to the next? For example, moving from a Maddux to a Zambrano would have to be quite a challenge.
  3. Thanks for taking the time to speak to us. When going through the system of a National League club as a pitcher, is there any emphasis at all on hitting? It seems to me that an NL club would want their pitchers adept at handling a bat.
  4. He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood He's gonna be your Frankenstein Alas, I voted for the #1 seed.
  5. i'm pretty sure it says, "vote for your fav." it doesn't say, "vote for the band you think influenced 60's culture and rock music the most," does it? stop getting your panties in a wad because, gasp, some people don't like the beatles Sure, but the whole idea of the tournament is to determine the best band. The only top 64 list Megadeth should appear on is the list of bands that once performed at the county fair. Whether you like the Beatles or not (and I do not particularly care for them), it's laughable to consider Megadeth to be a better band. Megadeth is not a better band (IMO), but they are certainly better than the county fair. 15 million records sold over a 20+ year span. Mustaine and Co. will always be the red-headed stepchild of metal, but they certainly had a strong thing going for many years. I was probably a bit harsh in my assessment of their overall talents, but I always viewed Megadeth to be just not quite good enough. It always seemed to me that no matter what they were doing, a couple of bands were doing it better.
  6. Well the Cuse/Iowa series starts up this fall. You'll get to see another one of those teams up close.
  7. Then there's the not so hot:

  9. Maybe the dissention theory has some legs. Maybe someone else caught this too and can confirm, but when Dempster started off the 9th struggling last night, the camera showed Rothschild in the dugout looking at Dusty, and it appeared as though the said "what are you going to do?".
  10. I agree, and it may cost a bit more than just Ohman, but I doubt it's much more. He seems to be stuck in that super-utility role, and they have historically come at reasonable prices.
  11. I'd give Dempster and a middle relief guy. I love Demps...great guy...but nights like last night...and 5 of his last 10 opportunities scare the hell out of me...give me freel...we'll find a closer. I don't think Freel has enough "value" to command Dempster and a middle reliever. He could probably be had for a guy like Ohman.

  13. Not too good overall: 248/314/390
  14. You're expecting us to watch the Cubs and the Bucs? I usually have a high tolerance for pain, but sheesh.
  15. I was just getting ready to completely trash this post. Then I realized you were not advocating us getting "The Farns" from Toronto.
  16. 1069-1131 (.486) -- Only 5/14 seasons over 500.
  17. Don't trade them unless we get a really, really, really good offer. These are 2 guys I want on my team in 2007. And to the White Sox and Cardinals, they should be 100% off-limits. Please give us one good, legitimate reason that makes sense to anyone beyond puberty. No, please don't. Let sleeping dogs lie.
  18. No, it isn't your imagination. Though it isn't by too much, he has been inconsistent since returning to Des Moines the second time. Thanks. I haven't been following the I-Cubs quite as closely this year as I normally do.
  19. If he can be had for Wandy and Charleton, we ought to be able to pick him up for Marshall and Buck Coats.
  20. Is it my imagination, or has Ryu slid a bit since he was called up and sent back down? It seems to me his ERA and WHIP are on the rise. (hopefully it's just my imagination)
  21. He is Dusty's boss. If he has a plan, he should not let one of his subordinates get in the way of its execution.
