  1. Yes, I wonder how he feels about Albert, his age, and his size.
  2. I cheer for all who don the Cubbie blue except Neifi. It used to be how he was used, now it's personal.
  3. Nomar Bill Mueller (don't know if he's technically still active) Kenny Lofton Corey
  4. I wouldn't trade with Joe Morgan unless he was getting fleeced.
  5. Even a camel should be able to get a hit after 0-2 if you give him enough chances.
  6. Too bad Jake Fox wasn't a year or two closer.
  7. Fontenot will get his chance soon. Just think of all the 40 man spots that will be freed up when we trade all those guys for Cabrera, Abreu, and ARod.
  8. Yes, even Wayne knows he got screwed. Which is hilarious...why do the deal if you know it stinks? http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/7099.jpg Nuff said.
  9. Yes, even Wayne knows he got screwed.
  10. NOBODY CARES, AGAIN!! It's different if you live in Chicago.
  11. Thats interesting. I wonder if they would move him for more pitching. Williamson + Hill for Freel? Depending on what we do the offseason Freel could start at 2B, SS, or CF for us next year. With this trade, I doubt we'll have to trade anywhere near that much for Freel. Makes me wonder if Rusch for Dunn is in the works yet.
  12. Cubs suck, Maddux will turn to dust after throwing pitch #18.
  13. What are the Cubs?
  14. I don't know if he's "done", but I would have dropped him for McCann or Napoli a long time ago.
  15. Yep...playing time for younger guys to see what you have, instead of playing older guys because they're your "horses". I don't buy that argument. Dusty has been playing the "younger guys" to see what they have. Unfortunately, they were not quite ready to be played. Tell that to Angel Guzman, who essentially was a spectator for two weeks during his last call-up. Angel Guzman of the 5+ ERA? It was fairly obvious in his time with the club that he is rusty and still has some work to do in the minors. Angel Guzman of the 5.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R performance against the Tigers who ended up collecting dust in the bullpen for 18 days before finally being sent back to Des Moines in favor of Glendon Rusch of the nearly 8 ERA.

  17. Since Adam Everett has a 605 OPS, and Houston's relief pitching ERA is ranked 10th in the NL, why not trade them Scott Williamson and Neifi Perez (hitting very well in July) for a prospect? Houston selects any prospect to trade if they pick up Neifi's salary in 2007; the Astros select one prospect from a group of 10 specified by Cubs scouts, if the Cubs pick up Neifi's 2007 salary. Plant that bug in someone's ear and get it done.
  18. Whatever happened to his cornrows?
  19. It's not an attempt to salvage the season, it's a message to everyone involved with this organization that the failures of the staff will not be tolerated.
  20. If they were smart, they'd move Wilson to the bench, Berkman at LF, Lamb at 1B and Ensberg at 3B with Huff in RF
