Harold Reynolds just said he had a problem with Bryce Harper’s .219 batting average and then followed that up with “he’s making an out eight out of 10 times”. I’m at a loss for words about how stupid that statement is.

I think the Giants and the Dodgers kinda get it after the 2016 playoffs. I will never forget him stealing home against the Dodgers. Maybe my favorite play of all time. Agreed. The absolute split second decision to deke like he was going back to the bag to draw the throw and immediately take off for home has to be the most ingenious play I've ever seen on a baseball field and he did it seamlessly.

Oooh, false equivalencies. I like those! You flip a coin 30 times, and it comes up heads 20 times and tails 10 times. For the next flip, someone offers you -150 for heads. Do you take it? Again, false equivalency. Coins and cards are not people with variable emotions and the like, especially on a day to day and week to week basis. If you're talking about a full season of blindly putting the guy in the leadoff spot, sure, I'll concede that point.

I’d be surprised if Mo got sent packing but Matheny is a couple years overdue. I was of the opinion when Luhnow left that he was likely the brains behind the operation and it appears that was spot on.

Can confirm Rizzo is NOT a "super fake dickhole" in real life from multiple people who've met him. Where do you guys come up with these takes? Does anyone else want to speculate on which former players are dicks because there are some pretty obvious ones: Lackey, definitely. Z, I don't know, I just see him as a hyper competitive dude who got really pissed about losing and not performing well himself. I bet he's a pretty regular guy off the field.

I don’t think it can be overemphasized that they haven’t fired on all cylinders and/or been healthy all season. They’re much better than they’ve played and as long as they don’t go on a pre ASB losing streak it wouldn’t surprise me to see a double digit lead on the division by September 1st. -

Ump has been really, really generous with the low strike tonight. That one was even worse than most of the others but not by much. Heyward thought he had a walk last inning on one that was in a similar spot and it was a called strike.

Yeah, he needs an extended stretch in AAA. Is there some veteran innings eater we can pick up for cheap to bridge the gap until Darvish comes back? I'm fairly certain Chatwood has too much service time to be demoted without his consent. Theo's just going to have to kill him. Looks like he's got a bum hamstring to me. Definitely going to need a rehab stint.

I don't disagree Phil did something slightly sketchy, but having been frustrated AF while playing golf, I totally get it. Regardless, they enforced the rules as written. I do agree that they need to close that loophole too.

Nope, they got it exactly right. The rule people wanted them to use to DQ him explicitly states that if any other rule covers the violation, it takes precedence. In this case, hitting a moving ball is the violation, not attempting to stop a ball in motion. The real travesty is the idiot announcing crew having their panties in a wad over the whole thing and saying Mickelson will have to rebuild his reputation or whatever. just over the top nonsense.
