  1. Yanks up 5-4 and still hitting. 2 outs.
  2. @Transmogrified TigerNah, I'm not griping about sequencing the batting order or little things like that. I'm talking about playing the long game and ignoring ridiculous things like Dansby saying no more days off, riding the same relievers every close game, not having guys up in the pen ready to go when it's clear a starter is close to the end of the rope in a game, letting Steele throw the most pitches he's thrown all season for the last 4 weeks when he's at an all time high in IP. Obvious stuff that we can all see and while it may result in a lost game at the time because you have to use a lesser reliever or get a starter out before you may want to, it results in less wear and tear long term so guys are healthy and available at the end of the season when things are down to the wire and you don't have half your reliable pen guys on the IL. The Brewers have started Colin Rea, Julio Teheran, and Adrian Houser in a third of their games. Peralta is averaging a little over 5.5 IP per start and Woodruff has started 10 games all year. I will concede that their pen is miles better and that hides a lot of warts, but they have exactly 2 regular position players (3 with Canha added) with an OPS+ over 100, so he's pushing the right buttons to score runs.
  3. Based on what his lawyer said on the Score the other day, I would think it's most likely that it involves someone in his home, but not him. Everything he said was couched in a very odd manner but he was very clear that Williams was not in any criminal trouble.
  4. You're high. Almost nobody wanted to sell. Ross has consistently played for that game with no eye to the future. He's not good enough to do this job long term. Counsell is probably the best manager in baseball so it's not necessarily a fair comparison, but he's far out managed Ross with just as many injuries and a far inferior offense all year. He's not up to the task.
  5. I've been listening to the Score all afternoon and the hosts are speculating it's related to Fields comments today but there's no real reasoning behind that. Also, they had Williams' lawyer on this afternoon and he unequivocally stated there is no legal action pending against him and also said there was no raid at his house or Halas Hall. What a bizarre day in bears history.
  6. So it's not exactly linear to total bWAR, but he averages 2.7 oWAR to 1.4 dWAR annually, so that's wildly inaccurate.
  7. Smash that Chiefs minus the points hard. They're gonna lose by 4 TDs.
  8. Nah, Atlanta can't cover anyone. 2 huge DPI calls that decent DBs knock the ball away on to keep drives alive.
  9. I have YouTube TV but my router was on the fritz Sunday so i had both my TVs running on a basic antenna and it worked surprisingly well Have you given that a shot? The antennas are pretty cheap and easy to hook up.
  10. Yeah, but if you don't you risk losing the rest of the locker room and that's a much bigger problem, especially this early in the season. They all know he didn't try last week.
  11. Sure, but generally my line of thinking, especially in cases like last night when you can literally see things unravelling as they happen is why aren't they more prepared to take action to remedy the situation? It was obvious last night that Cuas had lost command and he apparently wasn't willing to even try to throw his slider. At that point, you have a batter who knows exactly what's coming and he's thrown enough pitches that they knew what was going to be a strike and what wasn't. I'm fine conceding that the guys in the dugout know a lot more about the situation and nuance than I do, but it would be nice to occasionally get a glimmer of the thought process to instill some additional trust in the process, even if it doesn't work.
  12. It's bad that 4 of the top 5 are RBs right?
  13. I despise agreeing with Kyle but he's right on this one. Dude is trash.
  14. OLine is bad, DLine is bad, coaching is bad. I'm not sure you can evaluate anything else properly when those 3 things are as atrocious as they were yesterday. I think Poles being a former lineman is severely jading his ability to evaluate the performance of a try hard, low ability guy he picked in the 7th round to be a starting LT in the NFL. And I still have no idea why there was no effort to get an additional impact player on the DLine in the offseason. In conclusion, fire them all and start over. This horsefeathers ain't working.
  15. How many 100+ mph EV balls have they hit to 3B in the last 2 days? Ridiculous.
  16. Same here. Crazy with how many innings guys threw back then.
  17. That was a hell of a pick by the DBacks 1B.
  18. Do the Chiefs cut Kadarius Toney today? I'm kidding but man, talk about single handedly costing your team a game by not doing the very thing you're paid to do.
  19. @PJCubfan game threads are here on the day of the game and then get moved over.
  20. That was a nice low pitch count inning for Wicks. Be nice to get 6 out of him today since they seem to be willing to let him go 90 pitches.
  21. Nah, they're actively ****** people doing harm to the least of us and they've given us plenty to tee off on them for. It's why I haven't been to Wrigley in at least 5 years. I refuse to give them any of my money.
  22. It's wild to me that the math works out for them. Obviously the suites and all inclusive seats are going to do that for them, but more butts in seats means more beer and hot dogs sold. I have to think another 3-5,000 people in the building would be buying more than enough concessions on top of their tickets to result in higher revenues than more expensive seats do.
  23. I'm a little baffled at the time and resources spent on getting him built up to 5 innings and then sending him packing after calling him up for 1 IP. Just weird.
  24. Eh, Jeimer needs a day off. He's been bad for 2 weeks now.
