  1. Saying this with any level of certainty after looking at the Reds starting pitching is really, really dumb.
  2. Why do you hate fun? I'm with OO on this one. Martinez sucks. Him losing his mind a couple weeks ago was awesome though.
  3. Missed a guess on the Houston Cy Young but I had nothing for the Tampa/Houston box anyway so 8/9 was as good as it was going to get anyway. Is the rarity score better if it's high or low? I haven't been paying attention. I have to assume low is better and they just add up the totals of the % of each guess.
  4. Any idea if his velocity has rebounded back to previous highs?
  5. I was watching the postgame when this happened and Marquee just cut to commercial and didn't make the studio crew say anything about it. I was dying laughing.
  6. In my mind, part of the black hole problem is the manager not putting the right players in the lineup. Roster construction is certainly part of the issue but I think many of us have griped about the daily construction of the 9 hitters for much of the season.
  7. Vogelbomb? I got 9/9 today with some pretty household names.
  8. Agree with TT, this roster construct is fine if you're getting production from the entire lineup, but when you have essentially black holes at 2/3 spots in 1B, 3B and DH most days, you're just screwed from the outset. I 100% agree with the blame being placed on Ross because he's slow to react to what players' performance are telling him, good or bad. That and the bullpen usage is just infuriating. Even yesterday in a win, running Leiter and Alzolay back out the way he did after getting knocked around the day before didn't make a lot of sense to me.
  9. It might be better than him just being bad. Injured can be temporary, bad is, well, not good. Between the velocity drop and ineffectiveness I almost hope there's some injury that's a rehab/rest type deal because he was such a different pitcher last year.
  10. I'm in. Let's see how high, far and fast they can go. If they're willing to take the risk, I'll watch.
  11. I got stuck on the Angels/Nats Angels/Marlins combos. All the others were pretty easy. My Cubs/Marlins answer was a 0.3%.
  12. Not using the easy answer of Pujols for the 3,000/500 seems like a miss. He terrorized the Cubs long enough that we should all have Pujols PTSD.
  13. @Old Style you mean this? 😂
  14. Woof. Too much AL in today's for me to do well.
  15. I did BlackJack McDowell for that one.
  16. So they don't address career counting stats like hits, Ks, HRs etc. in the rules so I was kind of screwed on the 3,000 Ks ask today until I looked up the list and saw that only 19 pitchers have ever accumulated 3,000 so it's a guys who pitched for the team and at some point got to that number. Kinda dumb with the way everything else works.
  17. I would say no based on Fergie being a correct answer.
  18. Maybe giving a big nod to age since he's 19 and doing this in full season ball already vs a college draftee?
  19. He's got enough of a history that I don't think this is smoke and mirrors. He's not actually this good, but he's certainly capable of being a useful player for more than a hot month.
  20. Same7/9 but I had Randy Myers and couldn't come up with a Mariners closer or the Pirates/Rangers combo.
  21. Yeah, I'm ready for him to be fired into the sun.
  22. The thing I liked most about GABP was the different spots you could grab a seat at around the stadium for different perspectives. I bought RF bleacher seats but sat in center and right as well in spots designed for people to hang out in for a bit and then move on. Fantastic sight lines too. I haven't been to Comiskey probably since it was called Comiskey.
