  1. I'd pass based on him trying to punch an opponent after the game.
  2. I would argue that, barring injury, the starting pitching is probably better and with a ready made reinforcement available no later than July 1st, you even have pretty good insurance there. You're probably better overall offensively too because if Mo Baller is the almost every day DH, you're likely going to get better offensive production there than 3rd base provided last year and most everything else will be essentially a wash.
  3. Okay Chicagoans, when should I grab my ticket? Have prices dropped as far as they're going to or will people panic sell on Sunday when the reality of how cold it is hits them?
  4. Anybody else going to the game? I think I'm gonna grab a ticket and head up Saturday afternoon.
  5. So I watched the last 5ish minutes and both OTs of the Tennessee Texas A&M game last night because I was working out and had TN on the money line (am I a degenerate? maybe). The number of dumb things done and bad shots taken by both of those teams was criminal. Neither one of them wanted to win it and I will be betting heavily against both going forward. 😂
  6. While I generally agree with you on taking the data as a whole, I think projections for a guy very specifically like Horton are difficult when you look at how much he evolved even after he got to MLB and how much he was learning on the job. He certainly had some good luck variance, but it feels like there's some stuff there the projections can't calculate just because of the unknown. I don't expect him to be a 6 WAR guy this year, but I also don't expect him to be a 1.5 WAR guy either.
  7. I'm sure there's at minimum a handshake agreement that the Steelers have to OK whatever job he takes or get compensation in return from the hiring team.
  8. There are very, very few of those. Stan Kroenke and the whole organization are pretty widely hated down here. I have a feeling a lot of STL football fans will be rooting hard for the Bears this weekend regardless of their allegiances.
  9. Yeah, he aged really badly the last couple seasons.
  10. The NFL seems to be able to bend its rules as they see fit to make things like this work. It feels like it's in their best interest to keep the Bears in "Chicago" so I would bet they help a lot more than typical with financing if need be.
  11. That feels a bit disingenuous to say that the facilities/transportation will only be used 10 times a year for Bears games when we know that a new Bears stadium would be a very popular place for concerts and other similar events. I do appreciate the caution being used here so as not to stick the taxpayers with the bill for something that only benefits the Bears owners.
  12. I would assume a bag of balls unless the Cards are floating most of his salary.
  13. I hate the whole idea unless it's directly tied to bringing back Tucker. That's really the only scenario that makes the team better now and in the near future and trading Nico to create payroll room to do it is something I could forgive them for.
  14. 100% agree. Just like that throw to Rome, the game is over if he doesn't make that play.
  15. Best play of Caleb's career so far (Homer.gif)
  16. I didn't realize until way after the game that the handshake was a response to MLF being a douche about after the week 14 game when the Packers one. He's such an arrogant tool.
  17. It was actually the exact same play the Commanders used to take the lead against them earlier this season when they played. But also to your point, the heavy package on the 2 point conversion was absolutely brilliant deployment of personnel. The Packers only had one DB in the game and he split out wide left to cover Smythe or Kmet and that left Loveland 1 on 1 with a special teamer who essentially played zero defensive snaps this season. Ben knew exactly the look he was going to get when he sent the heavy package in and they came out in the bunch formation to make sure it stayed that way before they motioned out to the spread formation they ran the play out of.
  18. There in lies the problem. I'm pretty sure the way the rule is written, the only option is to call the flagrant on Wagler or leave it as is. There isn't a way to just change the call to a common foul on Wagler to make the most common sense ruling. They really need to look at the way that's administered because as you said, that was nearly a massive game changing moment and it shouldn't have been.
  19. The level of awe from guys like Randy Moss, Teddy Bruschi, and Alex Smith on the pregame shows Sunday over that throw was crazy. It gets more amazing every time I watch it. Moving left, feet off the ground, Rome is like at the hash mark when he lets it go, and he drops it into the only spot it could go on a 4th down that probably ends the game if he misses. Absolutely incredible.
  20. Bigger problem is being down another DB if he reinjures himself during the game. They're already thin.
  21. If the wind does what they're saying it's going to, those will be even more of an adventure than usual.
  22. Doing this on 67 pitches certainly doesn't seem like a guy who was pitching hurt to me. A little gassed, sure, but not injured in any way.
  23. I'm looking at it like this: if you told me before the season the Bears went 11-6, won the division, beat the Packers once and were playing a home playoff game, I'd have been ecstatic at how well things went. Now, expectations have obviously risen with the success in season and another loss to the Packers would be excruciating. I'm not the least bit confident about them winning Saturday, but there's certainly enough things in their favor that they can pull it off. I'd honestly rather be playing almost anyone else to make a loss less painful.
