  1. This is Hawk Harrelson TWTW level of dumbassery.
  2. Who can they get to shore things up today? Any guys who have those triggers in the minors with drop dead dates? Just having someone who can get through 6 innings even if they give up 4 runs is fine with this offense but the pen is going to implode if they keep going 4+ every day.
  3. It actually is kind of important. It means there haven't been any off days sacrificed later in the season or DHs scheduled to screw up the rotation or routine. That alone can be huge for a team that's already keeping a close eye on pitcher workloads.
  4. Adames plays for the Giants so that would be a trick.
  5. He got a strikeout last night on a change up, so maybe have a little patience with the kid.
  6. I think the starting pitching is due for a significant regression. I have areal hard time believing this is going to continue. They've also been completely healthy and with guys as old as Gray and Mikolas in the rotation, I wouldn't necessarily expect that to continue.
  7. I'd bet they keep one of the OF simply because you lose both Happ and Suzuki after 2026 and having a cheap backfill is something ownership probably values and it gives some payroll flexibility to fill other roster gaps.
  8. He's not going 6. They're going to be lucky if he finishes the 5th. I don't think his pitch count is going to be much above 80 and he's already past 55.
  9. Game threads have always been way over reactionary but this new bunch of users is taking it to another level.
  10. Right? It's almost like these guys aren't finished products when they come up because they still have some things to learn and refinements to make that take MLB experience to get right. But I'm sure they were all experts at their jobs on day one.
  11. It was the ump signaling a dead ball. And while JD isn't buying the interference call, he clipped Dansby's foot and tripped him and that's why it got called.
  12. No, I can ask that they fire an obviously incompetent coach before a second double digit loss season. They could have had Ben Johnson before last year and avoided ALL of this horsefeathers.
  13. Sounds like a guy who wanted his kid to go into a situation where he could succeed and based on the Bears history (and the idiotic decision to keep Eberflus) I have a hard time blaming him for his position. And we all know he's right about the CBA/salary cap being trash. Just another affirmation that the McCaskeys need to sell the team because they're incompetent boobs.
  14. Is this based on your opinion of his long term MLB prospects or just goofing around? And is he viable at 3B or more Christopher Morel?
  15. Listen, I get that Javy was very exciting last night and the Cubs can always use that kind of energy, but we can't use the Tigers players in Cubs games. 😜
  16. Fun night in MLB last night. 3 walkoffs in a 4 minute span.
  17. Palencia with the leg kick is amazing. 🤣
  18. Anybody who thinks the Bulls would have actually gotten that #1 pick if they had been in the Dallas slot hasn't been paying attention to the NBA. That was 100% an under the table deal to get Luka to LA before Lebron retires so they continue to have their marketable superstar in the big market. No way Flagg was ever going to end up in Chicago.
  19. I have to agree with this. Miller may not have the upside that Pearson does but there's something to be said for the predictability he'll likely provide.
  20. Is there some way of quantifying how good pitchers are at getting called strikes that indicates a sustainable level of deception? Like last night, he didn't get much swing and miss, but 6 of his 13 strikes were called, including both strikeout pitches. I know there's not as much swing and miss as you'd like to see, but is the called strike thing repeatable because of the pitch mix or deception in delivery?
  21. I mean, there are at least 3, unfortunately none of them can hit their way out of a wet paper bag. They mostly aren't kicking the ball over the infield anymore at this point.
  22. Yeah, the shot by Berti that Mervis snagged and the Nico ball to RF both would have added to the run total. I’d like to see the xBA on Nico’s ball.
  23. Apparently Palencia would like a word with whoever was downplaying his swing and miss ability. Two Ks looking is really nice.
