  1. I pick the Cardinals. To LOSE! 7-3 and the man god that is Pete Kozma strikes out to end the game after a Daniel Descalso error blows it wide open in the 7th inning. Take that N&G!
  2. At least Carpenter wasn't awful in the minors and had a pretty decent season in limited duty this year. It's still horseshit, but not nearly as ridiculous as Kozma and Descalso.
  3. What about Eric Karros? I think he'd be a decent addition.
  4. Please tell me more about Iowa State. The Cyclones are almost as interesting as Notre Dame Says the guy in no position to say anything about any other college program ever.

    NFL Week 6

    What, this? http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/MrWookie47/1231448056721-1.jpg
  6. Theriot is much easier to stomach when he's contributing to beating the Cardinals than I expected. Although the comment about him pestering Scutaro to get in the game is a bit grating, but certainly not surprising. Go Giants!
  7. You shut your whore mouth. I'm down here on the front lines fighting the good fight every damn day. You want me on that wall. You need me on that wall! (Insert green font in case you weren't sure)
  8. i thought the cubs losing 90+ games last year and the cards winning the WS would be rock bottom, and once we hired theo that it would be our climb back. if the cards win another miraculous WS after the cubs lose 100+, i guess rock bottom was a little lower than i thought. This whole thing wouldn't piss me off nearly as much if they were consistently putting up 100+ win seasons. But the horseshit records/lineups they've won with in '06 and '11 and now this year are just so beyond ridiculous.
  9. The HR variation is pretty extreme. Which is even stranger considering the park he was pitching in. Also, the K/9 (barely 6 vs. 7+) and WHIP (.28 lower) are pretty extremely different. Like N&G said, as a whole the season isn't even really an outlier, but good lord, the stark contrast in numbers, especially ERA (yes, I know), between the two teams he was with is mind bottling.
  10. If you want something else to piss you off, go take a look at Mujica's numbers before/after he got traded to STL.
  11. Yeah, it's so much worse living amongst so many ass-clown fans who have no clue how truly ridiculous their luck has been since 2006.
  12. What's the penalty for going over IFA budget?
  13. If you put the DH in the field you lose the DH.
  14. Eff. We're going to end up with a worst case scenario Cards-Yankees world series aren't we?
  15. Wait, was Lincecum really not going to get a start in the NLDS? I know he's been bad this year but that really surprises me. I hope the Giants win because I don't think anybody else really has the starting pitching to shut down the Cards offense.
  16. Career-high OPS in the minors: .702, 2010, AA Springfield. OPS last year in the hitter-friendly PCL: .569. OPS this year in the hitter-friendly PCL: .647. This is the thing that bothers me most about Cardinals fans. They have no clue that this guy who just got called up is an absolutely worthless player and he's pulling this recent streak out of his ass. Then they're amazed at the references to pixie dust and the hate they get from other teams' fans. It's unbearable down here during playoff time.
  17. I'm sort of embarrassed I know who that is. Also, you need to find yourself a lady!
  18. Was this the one in the endzone or did I miss another one?
  19. Yes, absolutely. Just so I don't have to listen to any more of the "watch the games, Billy Beane's never won anything" morons.
  20. It's not even the first time we've had this plan. It's not? Andy MacPhail says, "Hi." I don't think draft all the pitching you can, completely neglect position player development, and try to band aid the rest is nearly the same plan Theo has in mind.

    2013

That's a lot of hostility for someone who is taking a perfectly reasonable position. For somebody in a position and with a reputation different than Boras, yeah, you're 100% right. But he very clearly has an agenda attached to his opinion and because of that, I agree with the OP. And, like Levine said, they've been pretty transparent about this whole thing.
  22. Once the doctor's say he is healed there really isn't a chance for re-injury. I don't think the Bulls management has a better idea than the doctors. As long ad Rose listens to the doctors he is okay. Babying him further just delays a process that is mostly mental. I couldn't disagree with this more. There's still a process of rebuilding not only strength in the knee, but the stamina to withstand long workouts and back to back games. If he overdoes it, there's a good chance he'll end up with some other overuse injury, like blowing a hamstring, if he's not monitored. It's a lot more involved than just making sure the knee is good to go. There's going to be some different mechanics that all the other muscles and tendons will have to get used to.
  23. Because the overtime is "sudden death" and a touchdown ends overtime by rule. In the instance of last night's game, they could block the extra point, return it for 2 points and still win the game. They did change that rule in the NFL a couple years ago didn't they?
  24. I see we're sending out our stopper tonight.
  25. Not sure where else to put this, but I hope Rosenhaus gets nailed to the wall by the NFLPA for this: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--prominent-nfl-agent-drew-rosenhaus-scrutinized-for-relationship-with-former-financial-adviser-.html
