  1. Abrams is having a hell of a game today. He's going to be nice to have around as a senior.
  2. This Chubb guy is unskilled Tyler Hansbrough. And just as annoying.
  3. Wow. How did they argue that? Some of his piss spilled from the cup and the tech caught it with another cup. Obviously, when that happens, adderall floating around in the atmosphere can easily find its way into the cup. I think the bigger issue was the way the guy taking the sample handled reporting it. From what I've heard, he didn't report it at all, then denied it happened when first questioned before he finally fessed up to the actual story. Sherman still probably cheated, but I don't have a big problem with it being tossed because of the poor execution of testing protocol.
  4. This is the part that makes me pause when thinking about signing Bourn. Having that extra cash becomes pretty significant with the set spending cap. This new CBA continues to suck balls.
  5. He and I were watching different games. Ha! If that's not biased writing I don't know what is. Chandler was very clearly the instigator.
  6. I was very confused by this until I realized you were talking about the pitcher and not the Cubs OF. #-o
  7. I think it was a combination of wanting another high draft pick and wanting time to evaluate what they had and what they needed.
  8. Well, yeah, other than the part where he always got hurt when he pitched a lot.
  9. Vitters not in their top 15. Is this going to be a theme we see?
  10. I'm not bothered by it (the 4 years) because it's not outlandish by any means and we're talking about a guy who has a pretty good history of being healthy and going out there every 5th day.
  11. Is Gyorko going to be able to stick defensively at 3rd? And what's the realistic top end projection on Kelly? 2/3, 3/4, unknown?
  12. I think I've seen numbers showing lefties fare better at Wrigley hitting, so I suppose having a lefty in the rotation who is the equal to a righty might have a small positive effect. But unless you're confident that lefty is as good or better than his RH competition, there's no reason to just arbitrarily have one in there.
  13. Really? I mean, it's a nice program and all, but it's not like some juggernaut that attracts amazing athletes every single year and has access to a talent laden recruiting base. And as bad as the B1G has been recently, the conference doesn't help any either.
  14. If the ABTY rumblings from PSD are right, it sounds like they may not be convinced he's going to come back healthy.
  15. Aren't you a Sappelt apologist? Or did you flip flop on that too?
  16. The biggest thing he has on his side outside of being a pretty good pitcher is how really healthy he's been. That makes me a bit more willing to go longer if needed. And, like Kyle said, if we don't spend it here, we're running out of places to put that kind of cash to effective use.
  17. No. One of the most important parts of building a strong system is to turn prospects into players who are good you can use now.
  18. On the head coaching search, did Payton ever get anything done after his contract was voided in NO? If he's willing to leave after all the BS down there, he's by far #1 on my list. How many dump trucks do we need?
  19. That's a terrible article. It didn't say a damn thing.
  20. Oversimplified example: Guy hits 4 3 run homers in one game and you win 12-2 that day. He goes 0-4 the next three day and you lose those games something like 4-2. Guy hits 1 3 run homer in 4 consecutive games and contributing to you winning 3 and losing 1. Which do you want?
  21. Could you have imagined yourself saying this before they played any games? I'm very pleasantly surprised at how good they've looked so far. The ability to actually score a basket and run an offense is such a big change from the crap they did the last couple of years. They're actually enjoyable to watch most of the time and I no longer think we have the dumbest group of players that has ever been on a court together like I have the last couple years.
  22. I'm not old enouh to know. But wasn't Marcus like 6'8"? Yes, but Bertrand is 6'5-6'6", so not a huge difference. I'm not quite sure what it is about him, but I have had the thought several times. I'm about 99% sure it's the high top fade!
  23. I don't think I'd be opposed to giving him a 4 yr deal if needed.

    NFL Week 14

He had a breakaway run about halfway through the third quarter and I'm pretty sure the only reason he got tackled was because he was tired from running all over the Rams all day by that point. I can only hope DRose gets the same bionic knee AD has.
  25. same Yeah, it's hard to believe Cutler would make that kind of throw. It's not a difficult pass. It's hard to believe Cutler would make a dreadful decision/pass? Have you followed his career? He exhibits dreadful footwork in the pocket and compounds it by thinking he can stick any throw. Going down this path after a play where Hester clearly ran the wrong route is really pretty pointless.
