  1. What does the bold mean? That's a really odd way to put that. I'd guess it prevents them from scheduling a night game to complete the double header on days where there's a day game on the schedule already. That doesn't really make any sense and I can't imagine that this situation would ever come up.
  2. And I've got tickets in a box for the Saturday game. Pretty pumped, it'll be my first NHL playoff game.
  3. That may be the most fun play in baseball for me. Awesome to watch it happen.
  4. Wait, who was the 4th besides the members of Run TMC? Sarunas Marciulionis.... he's inducted in this year as well. Damn, I was gonna go Uwe Blab or Manute Bol.
  5. I live here and that deserves a =D>
  6. Is this his 2nd or 3rd year post TJS?
  7. You could be a good judge, but maybe not an aggressive spender, or you worked for an owner that would not allow aggressive spending. It's an even bigger factor in the draft now too. You can't just rely on being able to over slot guys who fall that small market teams let pass by them.
  8. Really? I disagree completely. My guess is Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales side with me. I know I wish it had stayed the same, that's for sure. Yeah, the middling FA who would have been Type B guys in the past are the ones who are really most affected by and affecting the market. Theo's exploitation of extra picks is basically gone because of the new CBA and the only way to get compensated is by using a QO, which is a risk in most cases due to the high annual salary it brings with it. Plus, the guys like Morales and Drew are getting screwed by going after a longer deal instead of the 1 year high salary deal.
  9. Perfect. Thanks!
  10. They've got a much better shot at the ECF going thru Indy than Miami.
  11. Do we have a schedule in place yet? I'm trying to get my cousin to St. Louis for game 2 and can't find anywhere that says exactly what the schedule will be.
  12. That's the truth. If we don't have the ability to carry more than around a 100 mill in payroll, none of this matters. A better front office making better decisions absolutely could have had this team in better shape right now with a $100m payroll. It's counterfactual so there's no way to prove it, so feel free to sputter some vague insults at me over that statement. I don't disagree with you at all that taking a different tact on the last few seasons could have resulted in more wins. But how many more wins would there have been and would it have been at the expense of building anything tangible for the future? #1 I have no idea and #2 the answer is almost certainly that we'd have been in Jim Hendry bandaid territory in perpetuity if that approach had been taken.
  13. Yep, and your reply is what? Talking in more circles? What exactly, after missing on Tanaka, did you want them to spend the money on?
  14. So now you're bitching that he didn't spend just to spend? Meatballier by the day Kyle. That's an out-of-context, bad interpretation of what I said. You've repeated it multiple times now and don't seem to have any real context to it other then SPEND MOAR MONEY, so how am I supposed to interpret it?
  15. So now you're bitching that he didn't spend just to spend? Meatballier by the day Kyle.
  16. Well, you're definitely wrong about when it will be good. But you're late. By June, this pen will be pretty lights out because Veras will have figured it out or be gone and Vizcaino, Fujikawa, and Rosscup will be pitching in it. Which means no Wright, Parker or Schlitter and less Russell.
  17. Well, this is an unexpected fake rally.
  18. Some never want to question that (minus Hawk) & I'm glad he is, although I disagree with his assessment of the ump's consistency. He's right about the low strike not being called all day. The rest of the zone has been all over the place though.
  19. There is nothing more frustrating than watching relievers who can't throw strikes.
  20. Russell looks competent today. Hope I don't regret saying that before Adams hits.
  21. Ball 1 to Barney was definitely low in the zone but a strike that didn't get called from what the showed on TV with K zone. He's been pretty terrible all day.
  22. Of all the things to complain about, this certainly isn't one of them.
  23. That's the second time this game the ump has called 2 consecutive pitches in the exact same location a ball on one pitch and a strike on the next. This is getting ridiculous.
