  1. I have read some of the posts that other members have posted, but I do have a little trouble understanding how a player with a negative WAR (Ruggiano this year) has better numbers than someone (Schierholtz) who had a positive WAR last year. Am I wrong in assuming a positive WAR is better statistically than a negative WAR? Well, let's go super simple then. One guy made an out 69.9% of the time and the other made an out 64.6% of the time. Which one was more successful?
  2. That combined with the fact that there's a very clear line at each of the levels he's been at where he figured it out and the numbers were much different from that point forward. When he gets to the bigs, I'm pretty much expecting 2 months of suck before he starts putting up decent numbers.
  3. Is it a possibility that Paniagua sticks as a starter or has that ship sailed?
  4. Yeah, but that was in part because his K rate was being inflated by facing 8 batters per inning or whatever. Wait, how does your K rate get inflated by facing more batters? K is generally reported as K/9 rather than K%. You can have vastly different K% and end up with the same K/9 Well that makes sense, why didn't you say K/9 in the first place?
  5. Yeah, but that was in part because his K rate was being inflated by facing 8 batters per inning or whatever. Wait, how does your K rate get inflated by facing more batters?
  6. Why do soccer folk insist on referring to singular countries in the plural? It kind of bugs the crap out of me. It's grammatically correct to do so. Only if you are currently posting from the United Kingdom. I hate agreeing with Kyle more than any of you can imagine.

  8. Any word on Besler's injury status? It definitely looked like a precautionary move to keep him from hurting it any worse, but you can't really plan on using him as a sub because if he comes up lame again, you're burning 2 subs on 1 spot.
  9. That makes no sense at all. The new guy has a slim chance of sticking at C, a better chance of sticking in LF, and is pretty much guaranteed to be able to play 1B at a solid level. Vogelbach has none of that going for him.
  10. The scouting report on his stuff thus far this season hasn't been as impressive for Conway as it was last season. To be expected coming off his injury, no?
  11. uh oh, call the hall monitor. Tell the teacher. "Umm, Miss Jones, you didn't give us any homework!" It must be a burden being that much better than everyone else.
  12. Just imagine all the things a douchey SEC baseball player jock guy who is a lawyer might say because he thinks he's too tough and cool for something someone else enjoys. It was that stereotypically dumb and awful. And then he started posting pictures of scantily clad women. you have a problem with Elisha Cuthbert. What the hell is wrong with you, turdnugget? I'm pretty sure you're outside board guidelines at this point. Then, I don't see where I said anything about her. She's great. Posh on the other hand, meh, a little overdone for my taste.
  13. I've had that problem a lot as well. You have no idea what's already happened in the inning unless you're 100% focused on it.

  15. Yeah, seems like our relievers enjoy running the count full and throwing as many pitches as possible. That was short and to the point.
  16. I don't know that I've ever seen an opposite field homer a) get out that fast and b) get out at such a low angle. That man's power is unfair. Seriously who the [expletive] hits home runs like this? http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/0/v33771229/chcmia-stanton-lines-a-tworun-home-run-to-right Looked like mcgwire's 62nd. Except it was opposite field, so nothing like it at all.
  17. So he's gonna hit 20+ this year. Man, so nice to have this version than the confused and clueless one from last year.
  18. I did not but whomever did is the second greatest national hero after John Brooks. Clint Dempsey did it. It would have been gone after 32 seconds if it was Clint.
  19. Do we have somebody who can manage to not fall down every time they have the ball like Johansen?
  20. Jones is like a crafty lefty out there, or the old dude at the pick up hoops game.
  21. They just look nervous. Even the simple passes are an effort to get from one guy to another.
