  1. In Muskat's article, he also said he got drunk and celebrated after learning of the trade. That and his twitter stuff, it's hilarious how excited he is to be Cub. He mentioned getting drunk as well. He and Motte were hilarious about everything. Motte is going to own this summer. He's fun. I'm not surprised he's not in STL any more. Probably not straight laced enough for them.
  2. Yes, but he was late this is so weird to me. jacque had two solid years with the cubs but i never felt like he was particularly loved by fans. do they always bring random weirdos to the convention? Not only was he not a fan favorite, but he was vocal about the [expletive], racist/racial treatment he got from some fans. I think he later downplayed that, but still, definitely not someone I'd expect to see back. And it was always a little odd how his career just stopped liked it did. Guess he just completely broke down. I think Todd Walker had an even stranger end to his career. First of all he was like an .800 OPS 2B with the Red Sox (although that meant less back then and his defense left a lot to be desired), accepted a backup role with the Cubs, had 2 .820 OPS years then got traded to SD and when his contract expired he just left the game. Granted he was terrible his year in SD but He was worth 2-3 offensive wins per year in 350-400 PAs with the Cubs. I feel like he could have gotten a contract somewhere as a backup or DH, at the very least a spring invite but he just decided he was done. Didn't the Padres do something shady like sign him to a $3-4M deal and then cut him in spring training so they didn't have to pay him?
  3. Kerry looks like he's in the mob. I had no idea that was Rusch and was about to ask who it was. That's probably my favorite word filter of all time though. Does is still work? Boobs. Edit: Guess not.
  4. Just based on Fox's 2-14 season where he was in QB hell, I'd think he'd be in favor of keeping a guy who he knows is at least a legitimate NFL QB.
  5. Per ESPN, looks like Bowles to the Jets is done.
  6. You were saying? This is just ugly.
  7. He lost by 3 points to a vastly superior Patriots team that was in the middle of a 33-2 stretch of football. I don't know if you can exactly count that against him. So all you are really going off of is the shellacking in last year's Super Bowl. With Jake freaking Delhomme as his QB no less. That said, I still don't really want him. I'm not sure who I like now that Kubiak is out of the picture either though, so what do I know.
  8. From MLBTR: In addition to pursuing free agent starter James Shields, the Diamondbacks are looking at the trade market for a starter and/or catcher, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports. Arizona would be interested in moving an outfield bat, and at least one club (the Orioles) has inquired on David Peralta and Ender Inciarte. Is upside on Inciarte something in the .280/.330/.360 range?
  9. Unless he's transferring out of Division 1, he'd have to sit out a year and be two years from the draft. Right but he'd sit a year, then play a year and be like every other 5th year draft eligible QB. Though transferring to a top FCS program would be an interesting move. I REALLY think that's not a rule anymore. He is immediately eligible. You're only eligible to play right away as a 5th year senior if you've already graduated. Other than that, you have to sit a year unless there's some sort of family/medical hardship.
  10. I don't know about that, but I don't think Mariota or Winston will be any good.
  11. The thing that kills me about it is that if he had been at the 10 yard line, this whole argument probably never happens because he tucks the ball away instead of trying to extend over the goal line. I almost feel like the fact that he switched hands and tried to extend for the TD should make the stupid rule invalid in this instance. And MCF, if you can't see the ball touching the ground, you should probably get your eyes checked or just go into college officiating of some sport.
  12. This is just crazy. And Elliott is pretty fantastic.
  13. West coast market share>>>us getting to work in the morning. Especially when one of the teams is on the West coast. Even if I get out of work on time, with traffic, I'll likely miss most of the first quarter. Where as the game will likely end after midnight EST, and I have to be up at 6am Is someone holding a gun to your head making you stay up and watch it? DVR it if it bothers you that much, or watch the game and quit bitching. You're a grown up; figure it out.
  14. I'm not sure why I keep watching this Illinois team thinking they'll do something good. Just zero offense at all. The officiating in college basketball continues to be comically bad as well.
  15. I knew his arm strength had gone south, but man, he can't get it down the field at all anymore. I'll be surprised if he comes back.
  16. The controversy comes from [expletive] rules that needed to be fixed years ago rearing their ugly heads again. Having a ball hit the ground and pop up is pretty standard "not a catch" situation. Not sure how you make rules to fix that one. Do you enjoy being obtuse on purpose? He clearly caught the ball, took a couple steps, and then the ball got dislodged by the ground. It should be a catch if not for idiotic rules, just like the Megatron catch that's been referenced.
  17. Nice dirty finish by Matthews on Romo's knees on the TD pass. God I hate them so much. Their fans are becoming almost as bad as the holier than thou Cards fans.
  18. I bet Cam wishes he would have checked down to the RB on the other side of the field instead of going where he did. Just an awful decision when the back was wide open for a 1st and goal.
  19. That should get overturned.
  20. Too many designed runs for Cam thus far for me.
  21. How the hell do you not account for the RB there? Looked like something the Bears defense would do.
  22. Kubiak is at the top of my list, especially if he could get Lebeau to be the DC.
  23. Why the doubt that Coughlan can be close to what he was last year? He's done it before and was finally fully healthy and getting regular ABs.
  24. That was a hell of a finish in the UNC Louisville game. Great plays in the last minute both ways.
