Meh, there's literally 3 "high" pitch counts in there. It's not like he's some rookie out there who hasn't thrown a bunch of innings before. If he was piling up 120+ start after start I might be worried, but that's really not that bad outside of the 119 and 125 back to back.

I'm not sure that a Memphis team would do that well. There would have to be a significant investment in Memphis by the ownership to make the park a draw. The trend in baseball is for less suburban ballparks, and more ingrained in a cities downtown. I highly doubt you're going to get people from all over to travel to Memphis, proper, to go to a game. The city has done little successfully to cut back on it's crime problems. And if those people from a few hours away won't go, they likely won't change their allegiance from the current team. Traffic is bad enough in Midtown, without a sports draw. There's nowhere near enough additional revenue available from increasing taxes to make that happen. I'd advocate the only way you'd draw from all over is to put the team in one of the North Mississippi suburbs, but then you lose the biggest advantage Memphis has- no state income tax. I have to agree with most of this having spent a decent amount of time in Memphis and having gone to the Redbirds park several times. The downtown area is minutes from some pretty awful neighborhoods and there would have to be a major revamping of downtown access to handle the traffic that would result from an MLB game crowd. On top of that, I think you'd be hard pressed to get fans who have been Cardinals fans for several generations to switch allegiances, which I honestly think would be the biggest hurdle. The reason the Redbirds draw as well as they do has a whole lot to do with the fanbase wanting to see guys they're going to see playing for their favorite MLB team soon.

Man, longest winning streak in baseball right now and can't get closer than 6.5 out. I can't wait until the Cards comeback down to earth after the pitching luck regresses to the mean and their terrible offense continues to rear it's ugly head.

It was far more interesting to watch than an elegantly manicured course where the winner goes -20 There's a huge difference between the winner shooting 5 under at this course where the best players in the world were struggling to make 5 foot putts and past courses where the winner shot 5 under and had to navigate narrow fairways, long par 5s, and thick rough. Guys making 10, 15, 20 foot putts to save par is way more fun than watching a guy get screwed out of a playoff because the greens are such pieces of [expletive]. I'm a decent golfer and on the courses I play, I'll knock in that 5 footer he had maybe 60-70% of the time and the pros are closer to 90%+. When Johnny Miller is calling 5 footers a 50/50 proposition, there's a problem with the course.
