    Since I saw you guys were talking about Texas players I just thought that I would throw in a little bit about Kyle Russel. St Louis reporter Jeff Gordon reported that Russell is close to signing with the Cards. This would be great for the Cards as he has huge power potential.

    I dont see anyway that Church makes it to the Cubs. A team like Florida has been looking for a CF all season, I would assume they would put a claim in on a 28 year old CF making very little money that would be under their control for a few years.

    Here is my take on the suspensions Lee- Say what you want about what happened before the punches were thrown, but Lee was the one who threw the first punch and for that he deserves to sit and I think that 5 games is pretty fair. Young- I think that its not fair for pitchers to sit out more then one or two starts, as that is a much larger portion of their season then 5 games is for an everyday player. If you want to give him one start they should at least make it 6 or 7 games so they cant plan it so it dosent really hurt the team. Peavy- As far as Peavy I thought when I saw it that he deserved a suspension, but I am not sure that his should have been as long as Young's therefore a 2 or 3 game for a pitcher does not do a whole lot. For that reason I would just make his fine much larger then the rest of the players, that way he still gets a penalty. That is just my take on it from an outside perspective with no ties to either team.

    To blindly dismiss it as a possibility is just ignorant. Ivy league grads from Texas are never racist, right? I am not saying that, but to just come out and say it is racist cause a white guy got in a fight with a black guy without any sort of proof and without anyone on the field saying it had anything to do with racism seem to be jumping the gun a little bit.

    I think to just flat out assume it was racist is pretty dumb. I have no doubt that Young said something to Lee to set him off, but to assume that it was racist just cause Lee is a good guy is just jumping to conclusions without any evidence. Plus just because Lee is a really good guy off the field does not mean that in the heat of the moment in a game he might not lose his cool. There are alot of really good guys in sports who lose it from time to time.

    The tow truck was parked in the left lane of the highway casue there was another accident there before and the tow truck was blocking the other car in the earlier accident until the cops got there to block it off.

    Rams have 2 picks left, I am hoping 2 of 3 out of Walter Thomas, Brandon Siler, or Moore the QB from Oregon State fall to them.

    All in all I am pretty happy with the Rams draft so far. I am a big fan of Carriker and think that he will be very good. I am not a big fan of the Leonard pick but it does give them another weapon on offense. After they they added some much needed depth at both the offensive and defensive line. I would have liked another linebacker but I am still happy with what they have done.

    Ludwick now batting over .350 with 7 hrs and 29 rbis and we have to deal with Skip Schumaker on our bench batting .200. I know Ludwick hasnt done all that well in his previous stints in the majors, but its not like Skip has either.

    This is just sad and creepy that for the 2nd time in a few years the Cards have lost a pitcher in the middle of a series against the Cubs.

    I am a little disappointed with the Leonard pick. I would have liked to see Wright, but oh well hopefully it works out well and they can draft that fat guy Solali in the 3rd round.
