    I'm intrigued by the whole thing. However, I can only echo the sentiments hoping the Cubs come through unscathed. Surely, though, the same is the hope of every sporting event. Nobody wants to see players get injured, at any level of any sport.

    I don't know the etiquette on this, really, but I figure this is the thread where I congratulate the Steelers and say how pleased I am with the result. The Bears were always going to be a tough game and I'm really chuffed we came through it with a win. Don't hate me.

    As a Steeler (don't hate me! one week only, guys) fan, I'm worried about this. Its been mentioned the Steelers don't look good at the moment, that's true enough. I'd be overjoyed to make the post-season the way this year has gone. The Bears will prove a big test and I don't expect there to be a huge difference between the two. Flipping a coin-ish, I'd say Steelers, but that might be heart over head....I've not really seen a lot of the Bears this year. (Though to be fair, I've not seen a lot of the Steelers. I hope they show up for this one)

    Thanks for clarifying. From where I come from, New England is near London, England. :D Whereas I'm a big fat phoney. Neither a robot, nor the Devil. Its a good veil though. I hope you've all noticed that I'm not intrinsically evil.

    I don't know the standard, really, of the Japanese leagues but I would think that they are (generally) lower than that of MLB. Does this mean that Japanese teams don't deserve a shot at the World crown? Look at other sports, too, and their crowning of World Champions - I don't know what the champion Australian Rules Football team calls themselves, but they would probably (by a similar default) be the world's best team, too. A lot of people bring this up in the UK (Really, a surprising amount) saying 'Why do you watch baseball when the team they call it the World Series and there is only American teams in it'. I always use the non-American players thing. I'd like to know some stats about the development of the players from abroad - how long, quickly, easily they came to assimilate into the game.
