  1. This one (post-All Star Blanco) was close to call, though.
  2. Glendon's always grinning in that photo, and if I comment, its always about that. Let's hope he keeps it up all game. I, too, would be quite chuffed seeing the Astros miss out.
  3. Its the first time I've seen a Cubs game in a long while. Was it worth it? Just about. Maddux's K in the eighth were sweet - as was commented upon. CUBS WIN!
  4. Good news! - good news, too that your smiley was matching your avatar.
  5. Z may be less than nimble, but your phrasing certainly isn't. (That's meant as a compliment) I kind of agree, but we can always use Corey as a pinch runner, right? He may as well see what the bases look like.
  6. I'd like to think Albert Pujols would win a WS, and I'd like this to be his last chance before the Cubs start pounding the stuffing out of everyone the way they did the Cards this year. Cards in 6.
  7. Dontrelle or Marquis Z is the best fun to watch, though. Of any player. (That includes Tim Wakefield, and I do love his do-or-die but more often the latter knuckleballing).
  8. If he's number 24, Henry Blanco above Neifi.
  9. A bit late due to time difference, but I'd like to pass on thanks, too. Especially to those in the radio booths and those who help us newbies to Minor League Baseball to better understand it. I've really enjoyed this season, and I think its been partly because of a combination of just about everyone who regularly visits this part of the forum, too. So a hearty thank you to all.
  10. Mad Dog looks like he's going to hit unlucky 13 today. Lets hope its in the W column.
  11. You don't frighten us, English pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you! I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough water! I fart in your general direction! You mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Thanks! I've always wondered why it was so bad to smell of elderberries. I'd quite like to do it.
  12. Cubs beat Cards? Man, I wish I cared more than just a passing interest in this game. That upsets me. I'd like to be flamed for saying it, but I get the feeling that people are feeling the same. The 5 pages thread would suggest it, too.
  13. Are we taking Federer's current level as his peak? Cos I think he'll get better over the next couple of years.
  14. Aw, I wanted to say that. Especially seeing as I called the last one as even and then it turned out I was heinously wrong. GO JAXX!
  15. Cool, someone else from the UK. Hi! Go Jaxx! Hi! I've been active on the Jaxx threads for a couple of weeks now, ever since I gave up hope with the Cubs. Been a good time, though tiring, and the Jaxx fans have been great, informative and welcoming. So I've stayed.
  16. Go Jaxx!! Its midnight, so bed calls me, but I'm a-listening - don't worry about that.
  17. Consider my 'even match-up' post changed to "Looks like the Jaxx pitching just shades it"
  18. Looks like a pretty even match-up on the surface of things. Hopefully the Jaxx can get out in front early as they did last night and stay there. Go Jaxx!
  19. I think I have a bet on the Cubs to win tonight. #-o GO CUBS! PLEASE!
  20. Makes two of us. And many many more, I assume.
  21. Well, with the Cubbies season, wouldn't you? Joke courtesy of Frasier.
  22. I'll add a Let's Go Jaxx!!!! (again) Man, I'm getting excited/tense by this game.
  23. Go Jaxx! I've been looking forward to this for a few days and now? Now I'm tingling with anticipation.
