OOOHHH...I love it when people use the word "groupthink"! It's so obvious we all just get together and come up with mindless "groupthink." Oooh yeah! Hey, gimme some credit here. I almost got my nuts ripped off by this board after I suggested that we should trade CPatt over Burnitz early last year. Look how that turned out. Sometimes this board gets a little hive-minded sometimes is all I'm saying. I don't think it was a good signing, but I'm not calling the season yet either.

No, I think that when push came to shove, they wouldn't have enough conviction to say it away from the kneejerk groupthink that this board can sometimes become.

Yeah right. I'd say the questions are pre-arranged, but I know people who have asked before. I guess the question askers are just scared to speak out. Can you imagine: "How do you justify overpaying the market value (cite example of a player comperable or better to Neifi getting signed this offseason for similar role for much less) for a player who is below average at best and a player you know your questionable manager will end up starting over your up and coming player just because he was alive for Jimmy Carter's presidency? You really don't know? Because for all this foaming at the mouth the people do here, it's a lot harder to actually speak up to the person in real life than bash him mercilessly on an internet board.

The thing is, if we weren't getting Furcal, I would be all about Pierre as a leadoff man, but assuming we do get Furcal, having Pierre is kinda redundant whereas I think Crawford would be a huge addition. EDIT: That is true about Pierre being cheaper. He just came off a pretty miserable year. I just really like that Crawford is a better baserunner. His SB% is astounding. All the more reason his numbers are impressive?

I like Crawford a @$^% of a lot more than Pierre. Coupla reasons: *Crawford gets almost twice the amount of Extra Base Hits *Crawford is 4 years younger *Crawford is a much better baserunner. Over the last 3 years Crawford's SB% is .8290 and Pierre's is .7368. And Crawford has only stolen 7 less bases. *Although Pierre's OBP is higher, Crawford has only scored 11 less runs over the last three years. *Crawford makes almost six times less than Pierre *Crawford grounds into less double plays. Over the last three years, he's grounded into 10 less double plays. *Crawford bats more runners in. Over the last three years, he's batted in 53 more runs than Pierre

Ugh, this is sickening. He's knows it too. I really wanted it just to be Baker, but now I know that Hendry will have to go too next year. This is just....inexcusable.

:( :( :( Here's hoping this is just to lure Furcal, since I guess he knows and is friends with Neifi? I think it's insurance in case Cedeno pulls a Dubois and can't get it working. He'll just be used as late inning defense. Oh god, please please please let me be right. No starting Neifi, no starting Neifi, no starting Neifi......
