  1. Baez with a single and double so far.
  2. Starlin does a good job getting ahead, then does that.
  3. Victor Diaz disagrees. Those two weeks or so are up there with my worst Cubs related memories. Favorable schedule, they said. Wild card lead and everybody finally healthy, they said. I just can't believe how long ago it's been now. 08 playoffs was the worst to me though. I thought we were gonna roll. What a gut punch.
  4. Victor Diaz disagrees. Was that a long AB? My brain has sort-of blocked that out of my memory. Not sure, just meant that was the worst thing ever. That and Jsh Beckett having a hot week against us.
  5. What crappy light hitting middle infielder had a HR in Dodger Stadium after like 15 pitches that one time? One of the Coras.
  6. He's gonna have a big day today.
  7. Love paying for extra innings, but not being able to get this game. MLB has some setup.
  8. Yes, this what I meant. Besides LeBron he's about as close to a guy as I would bank on at this point.
  9. I just think it means he's on the cusp already. It isn't crazy to think he could get over that hump.
  10. Roses is basically using up the majority of his goodwill that he gained over his first 4 years with the Bulls. He was accessible, said all the right things, won an MVP, led the team to the best record in the NBA 2 years in a row, etc. People are frustrated, but the media is going to treat him better than Cutler, who is known to be aloof. I gotta tell ya, I'm chuckling over everyone losing their minds on this. When he comes back, and is his usual self, especially if he has an improved jumper, none of that is going to matter. Everybody's gonna be all giddy that he's back, and move along happily watching him, buying his jerseys, and forgetting that this year even happened. I don't know about forget. Things will be more or less back to normal, but a lot of fans (especially the meatballs, and on this subject I admit to having some meatbally tendencies) aren't going to just fail to remember that he basically punted a season. Unless/until, of course, he leads a team to a championship, which as we've seen over and over again is the cure-all for any athlete, especially an NBA player. LOL @ DRose leading a team to a championship If LeBron James isn't a thing, he already has one most likely.
  11. Chris Valaika was a decent prospect coming up with Cincinnati.
  12. FFS Rizzo is hitting into some great luck.
  13. Being good (or better) "on paper" doesn't seem to carry over to the play on the field. Look at how many times the Cubs were one of the better teams "on paper" during the last 10 years and then look at the results. 03, 04, 07, 08, and 09 in the past decade. And of those years we had four good seasons. What am I missing here?
  14. Theo could lose 100 games every year for 4 years and he'll be allowed to finish out his contract. That's kind of what I figured as well. Hopefully we won't ever find out.
  15. Honest question, let's say this season goes off the rails. I don't think it will, I think historical numbers will prevail and eventually we will get through this awful stretch of luck out of the pen. But, what if this team is like last year and we sell everything and end up with 100 losses? Is next year a make or break year for Theo? Or is he still safe?
  16. Figured I'd let you have that one. Thanks, felt good.
  17. Angel Rodriguez leaving KState. Lol.
  18. A lot of guys probably haven't seen much of him yet.
  19. Apparently I am missing that too. None of the quotes I read in the OP mentions anyone specifically. CSN just showed his quote. "...start becoming that prolific defensive shortstop that's there..." I'm done with this team if that happens. At some point doesn't Theo step in and prevent any insanity from happening?
  20. I get what the front office is trying to do, but man, watching this complete rebuild sucks.
  21. It's nice to have daddy running baseball.
  22. He's been killing everyone since the all star break and he had work done on his ankles. wanna say his per was 24.
