  1. These guys will make the games close I think, but yeah, I can't see them winning the series.
  2. True, but that's not his normal m.o. Usually he bitches to management to get the coaches out. And while he wasn't very good at times in this series, this one probably should fall more on Joe Johnson. Deron still had a per of over 20.
  3. How did he get Pj fired?
  4. I [expletive] HATED that pick when it happened, but he's so awesome. When talking about trades, people always say "only Derrick is untouchable", but I think it's time to add Noah to that list. I didn't like the pick either. Didn't see the offensive upside in his game. He's still not a dominant scorer on the interior. But maybe more importantly, he's a great passer and rebounder. A good enough shot blocker that has developed into a shot maker. And he stops dominant scorers from scoring. I added him to the untouchable list earlier this year. Getting a star player would be pointless if Noah isn't on the team with him and Rose. His ability to pass the ball to the other big is so valuable. He's probably the best in the league at that. I love the Rose camp wants another superstar. Noah basically is another superstar.
  5. Joakim Noah is ridiculous. So underrated, he dominated that series. Was the best player on the court.
  6. Facebook feed for Daytona says good chance they can't play tonight either. It isn't raining, but I guess the area behind second base is all tore up.
  7. Oh it isn't, but if you were on board with the hire and after they said what the plan was, it's foolish to then jump off board in a year and a month after the plan starts. No? I guess. But they've spoken in some many waves of doublespeak that anything they do could be found in it afterwards. It wasn't as clearcut as you are saying. Fair enough. I don't blame them though. I think that after they were hired Ricketts changed things up by making less money available. Which is the only thing that really scares me.

  9. like I said, I'm fine with another losing year if it nets us another good prospect. We aren't in the kind of market where we need to worry about losing guys because of money.
  10. Yeah, it's pretty awesome how they're totally not wasting any years with those guys at all. Lol, quit telling people how to feel about seasons. Theo totally should have Jim Hendryd this team into a quick fix. We've locked up Starlin, we held off on Rizzo to not burn any service time, and we will most likely be locking Shark soon. Sure, the only options are the mot messes we've had this season and last or running a team like Jim Hendry. NO OTHER OPTIONS. Good lord psycho, do you always have to have everyone tell you that you're right? This was their plan. We all knew it. To cry about it now is pretty foolish.

  12. Scs I really don't care either, yeah it sucks watching it now, but ultimately shark, Starlin, and Anthony are the only guys here that will really matter when we are good again. I can handle one more crap year to add another top level prospect via the draft.
  13. I have faith we can do it. This FO loves top picks. Hopefully the kids in the minors have big years.
  14. Probably not. Last year, we achieved that milestone due to the fact that we spent the final month and a half or so with Travis Wood as our 1 Starter and rounded out the rotation with pretty much anyone that filled out a job application. My guess is that by that time this season, we'll have at least 2 of Shark, Jackson, Wood, and Villanueva. We will be dumping guys at this deadline too. I bet we are in the ballpark. He acknowledged that. What we'll be left with this year probably won't be as bad. Oh we aren't a slam dunk, but I could see us losing 90 easily. From there you're one injury to a key pitcher or Rizzo from threatening it.

  16. It's depressing giving a game a week away hoping Carlos Marmol catches lightning in a bottle and nets us more than a bag of balls. Yes, I realize that was a slight exaggeration.
  17. The close your eyes and swing hard method results in streaky results lol.
  18. We have Cody ransom batting second again today. With his career .308 OBP. Well, #1 we have a much worse team. #2 at least he has a career OPS of .800 vs LHP. And he's been crushing them lately. We still have better options than Cody Ransom.

  20. I prefer what actually happened, it was exciting at least.
  21. You've got to be [expletive] kidding me. I can't imagine what you'd be like if you were fan of one of the many teams that has been consistently far worse than the Cubs for the past 20 years. It's more than just losing. It's coming to the cusp of winning so many times and failing every time. The only comparable recent situation is the 2011 Rangers World Series. This was a throw away game in may of a throw away season. Just like the 2011 World Series.
  22. He is and I still love him, just don't understand him. At all.
  23. I wonder how Epstein has liked his indoctrination to Cubs probability the last two years. He's getting paid well, I'm sure he's cool.
