Isiah Thomas isn't exactly a high character guy. I don't really see an issue with it anyway, it could actually turn into a decent strategy for him, kids that want to buy into the Bloomington [expletive] he can point out to them that he was there when it meant something, that present day IU isn't the IU he knew and loved. Come play for a real IU guy. Oh I don't take issue with it either, just was kinda suprised. Although, like you say, Isiah was never a big character guy anyways and he only stayed at IU for like 2 years anyways.

Wasn't this a guy IU was after? Yea, and he was committed to Kentucky before Gillespie left. I'm kinda suprised that Isiah would go after a guy IU had targeted. Why? I dunno, just thought he played for them and all. I know Roy Williams while at Kansas wouldn't touch guys that UNC was after.

He, Justin Upton, and Miguel Cabrera are my favorite non Cubs. Thank god, I thought I was the only one here that liked Miggy. I got Miggy's autograph this year. I think he only came over because I had a Cubs shirt on. He made fun of me for being a Cubs fan. He was pretty cool.

This is the part of the OP that intrigues me. By all accounts, TLR despises the Cubs and everything they stand for, and I shudder to think of him in a Cubs uniform, and I dont think hed ever want to wear one. On the other hand, TLR seems like the kind of arrogent prick who could take the job, on the off chance that the Cubs dont win the WS this year just so he could say that he was the one to finally take the Cubs there and say screw you, your welcome. This just isn't true. LaRussa ripped the paper there a couple years ago in '0 when we had a slow start and they wrote looks like 99 years. Said it was a joke. He's also buddies with Lou. -
He pretty much picks the correct champion every year. Every year after the National Title game he picks the next years matchup and he is pretty accurate. FWIW.

That's either way too high, or college bball is gonna be way down this year. Yea thats basically what I was thinking. I like our team, but I don't think we are that good yet. Next year should be when we get back in that range.

We are lucky they haven't just contracted us. The Cardinals are so much better. Hell we aren't scary at all.

Guys, the Cubs just aren't scary. If we would have signed some ugly guys like the Cardinals have filled their roster with we would be more scary and thus would be the favorites. =;

Which is why the manager has to be the sane one. No way can a guy in Nen's spot say, "sorry skip, I can't go today." Could you imagine if he did that in the World Series? He would be hammered in the media and press.
