  1. I don't think it will happen because I think they are going to move Zack. I think that after them protectin ghim from the media for three years, but then him running to the media to blast them for having to rebuild again was the final straw. I think, like you alluded to, if they move Zack they have to have Billy and Soria around for name value. I do think though with what they have coming soon they would be best served to trade all three guys now for big time prospects and be ready to compete in 2012.
  2. I think they will move Billy at some point. Since they have a pretty good 1B coming behind him in Hosmer, plus Wil Myers who is probably gonna end up dhing or playing 1B. Why not get something in return for Billy before he gets more expensive? I agree that they will eventually move Butler, but he is under team control until 2013 (I think). Considering the only draws they have right now are Butler, Greinke, and Soria I doubt they get rid of any of them next year. Hosmer will probably take over 1st, but I think Wil Myers will probably end up moving to a corner outfield spot. Butler may be moved, but I can't see it happening until the end of 2011 or maybe even 2012 and by that point the Cubs would have better options through free agency if they don't sign Dunn. Well you could be right, however if they want to maximize their return for Butler, now would be that time while he is still cheap and under team control. I would hope they learned from the Beltran fiasco that waiting until he's about to be a free agent will kill his return.

  4. Yeah. It had to be a game I was at, too. I'm happy with where Soto's at right now. Lol, you are ok with him being the best offensive catcher in baseball? That's good to know.
  5. No I know what you meant. Just a frustrating year, sadly I don't have much more hope for next year either.
  6. Id like to think that they wouldnt consider throwing their top pitching prospect into middle relief on a big league club with 0 playoff chance, but I never underestimate the stupidity of this organization anymore. You mean for a second time this year? When they did it with Cashner they were still pretending that they were in contention. I don't think they're still under that delusion.I'm not so sure that makes it any better. Anyone who thought this team was in contention at the time we called up Cashner should have their heads checked.

  8. Soto's not a good fielder. Castro has the chance to be at least an average SS. Plus Soto is going to earn more money over the next 5+ years, so I would say Castro will be more valuable. But Castro will have to improve quite a bit at the plate to do that. Why is Soto not a good fielder? I'd say Castro has a chance to be better than average if he's around average at 20. I love how in '08 everyone raved about how great a fielder Geo was. Now that Lou needed a reason to play Hill for half of two years we get the myth of Geo can't field. Awesome work.
  9. I'm not saying we should go after Butler, but he is only 24 years old so I would imagine his numbers will improve. Plus his power numbers would probably go up getting out of KC and the worlds largest ballpark.
  10. It truely warms my heart to see the Cards wet the bed they way they have the 2nd half. It seems as though ever sinve they traded Ludwick, that teams been crap. I don't think you understand how Brandon Phillips woke the sleeping dragon.
  11. All of them or any of them? any of them If any one game is decided by less than 10 points (or US loses), I win $20. You shouldn't take money from the mentally challenged.
  12. I really don't see anyway he doesn't get another shot at the bigs. Bob Howry pitched for someone this year.
  13. Agreed, I only wish they had time to write more up on our prospects. Thanks guys.
  14. Yes having Sampson as a coach probably hurt his development big time. Oh that's not what you meant.
  15. Is this some fantasy Illini fan world in which Eric Gordon doesn't exist? I know who Eric Gordon is. He's the guy that's gonna be so good Deron Williams will be carrying his gym to games. That'll happen anyday now. I was told so by IU fans on here. That said he's a better pro than I thought he would be. I really thought he would struggle to get his shot off.
  16. Bob ripping Aramis again, I hate how we turn on our stars now when things go bad.
  17. Illinois recruit Mychael Henry's younger brother was shot and killed last night. Just terrible.
  18. Isn't it kind of similar to the Phog? Field house style? it has much more of a high school feel than AFH. Probably because of its size and the crowd size for the games I've been to. Well obviously it isn't going to have the same type atmosphere. I would think the success and tradition of Kansas would make that pretty obvious. It wasn't just an atmosphere thing though. The size and overall vibe were very high school. I thought it felt like a high school gym well before I'd ever been to AFH. Huh, I've never been to either actually so I was just going off of what I've seen on tv. Maybe this will be the year I make the 10 minute trip to see the Phog, but I doubt it.
  19. Since July 10, Cubs rookie Starlin Castro has more hits than any other player in baseball and is tied for the most doubles in the game since that date. This was sent to me on my facebook page, from somewhere.

  21. What do you need us for? Brandon Phillips already woke up the sleeping giant.

  23. As in he's better than them or not in the same discussion?
  24. Perfect spot for the guy with the .913 OPS imo If Geo Soto is your 8th hitter. Odds are you have one hell of a lineup or you're the dumbest organization in sports.
