  1. Theriot does have quite the noodle arm.
  2. damn yer eyes, Jack Wilson 'tis not man but beast!
  3. Not sure if anyone caught Sedrick Ellis doing the Pee Wee Herman dance after his sack of Aaron Rodgers: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/sedrick.gif
  4. Scratch that....he has an ENORMOUS amount of talent.
  5. Man alive, I wish Brees had Randy Moss for a full season! That'd be sick.
  6. Are you watching the same game I am? How could a QB play any better? did u see that running throw for the TD? Good lord. It reminds me of Manning several years ago where they are just laughably good.
  7. DEUUUUUCCCCCEEEEE!!!!! sets all time Saints TD record. I still have my signed deuce ole miss jersey on the wall. oh.....and Drew Brees might be playing as well as any QB in NFL history.
  8. I do agree with you that Utah is in absolutely no way a better team than Penn State, but the fact that Utah is ranked higher than Florida is TRULY laughable and most telling of the stupidity of the computer system. In their 8 games against SEC opponents this year, they've outscored the opposition by an average of 32 points; not just scored 32 points a game, but outscored their opponents by that much. Take out the Ole Miss game and it's 37 points a game against conference opponents. That just isn't supposed to happen in a major conference in college football.
  9. That would be ridiculous. Florida is, at least in my opinion, pretty clearly the best team in the country.

  11. Ole Miss is actually a pretty dang good team now that they have someone on the sidelines who can coach. Orgeron was bringing in awesome talent but made Dusty Baker look like a Hall of Famer. Now that Houston Nutt is there, the awesome talent is developing and producing. Definitely hard to believe. They havent been worth a ish since Eli's last year in 2003. But they are certainly no joke this year. They beat Florida at Florida and nearly beat Bama at Bama. Houston Nutt is an outstanding coach.
  12. Hotty Toddy! Rebs win at the swamp and death valley this year. If we take care of business against miss state we should get cotton bowl since we are second in west.
  13. GEAUX TO HELL LSU!!!
  14. Tulowitzki?? If you look at the defensive metrics like FRAR, Tulo in 2007 had one of the best seasons of all time defensively at SS. In fact, only ONCE (1985) did Ozzie Smith have a better year than Tulo's 2007 according to FRAR. I know it's the only way to make historical comparisons and such, but FRAR is really bad. Perhaps so. Nevertheless, if you use that stat to compare Tulo to his contemporaries in 2007, he destroyed them all. Tulo - 50 J. Wilson - 33 Pena - 33 Reyes - 32 Furcal - 31 Greene - 30 Rollins - 27 Cabrera - 27 Uribe - 25 Vizquel - 24 (highest he ever got in his career was 35) Theriot - 20 Young - 19 Hardy - 18 Jeter - 18 Renteria - 18 Lugo - 15 Peralta - 13 Betancourt - 11 Crosby - 11 Guillen - 11 Drew - 10 Tejada - 9 Eckstein - 3 H. Ramirez - -2 (yes, that's a negative before the 2) I'd also like to reiterate my stance that Tulo was plainly robbed of the Gold Glove in 2007.
  15. Went back and looked at the HR leaders of each league each season and only one HR leader other than Hack was under 5'10, and that was Mel Ott at 5'9. Hack is listed at 5'6, but I don't think looking at that picture that anyone could think he was above 5'4 or 5'5.

  17. Walls were generally a few feet farther away than they are today. I have no idea where his power came from. I guess he just had tremendous strength. For different political reasons involving who got to choose baseball's MVP winner, there wasn't an MVP award in 1930 as they sorted out the situation. However, in an unofficial poll by the Baseball Writers Association that year, Wilson did get the award. Fun fact: He didn't hit a grand slam in his 191 RBI season.
  18. omg....look how small Hack Wilson is in this photograph of the "Babe Ruth 1929 All-Stars" l to r: Al Simmons, Hack, Lefty Grove, Babe, Pie Traynor, Guy Bush, Mickey Cochrane, Rogers Hornsby, and Jimmie Foxx: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/hack1.jpg
  19. In 1911, Cleveland superstar pitcher and future Hall of Famer Addie Joss died suddenly of tubercular meningitis. Friends of Joss organized a benefit game for his widow that was AL All-Stars against the Cleveland Naps (Indians). The game raised around $13,000 for Joss' widow. That's equivalent to about $300,000 today. The Cleveland team at the time included Joe Jackson, Cy Young, and Napoleon Lajoie. The AL All Stars: top, l to r: Bobby Wallace, Home Run Baker, Smokey Joe Wood, Walter Johnson, Hal Chase, Clyde Milam, Russ Ford, Eddie Collins. bottom, l to r: Germany Schaefer, Tris Speaker, Wahoo Sam Crawford, Jimmy McAleer, Ty Cobb*, Paddy Livingston http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/addie.jpg *Yes, Cobb is wearing a Cleveland jersey. His luggage got lost and so he was forced to where a Cleveland road jersey.
  20. There was a crappy made for TV one a few years back with Matthew Modine of all people playing Honus. Honus was a badass. He averaged 100 Runs, 100 RBI and 42 stolen bases over a 21 year period, at shortstop no less. On top of his offensive prowess, he was also considered the greatest defensive shortstop of his era. My favorite photograph of Wagner:
  21. I have no idea what The Logan is attempting to do. However, BP doesn't seem to have much difference in Lee in 07 and 08. If you put any stock in WARP3, Lee rated at 7.8 in 07 and 7.4 in 08.
  22. What else could it mean? I wasn't speaking in code. No, I'm wondering why you are implying that his last 2 seasons have been similar when they aren't even remotely close. I think you thought his 2007 was bad when really it was his second best of his career. Eh, now that I look at his stat sheet, you're right. Didn't realize his 2007 was that good.
  23. What else could it mean? I wasn't speaking in code.
  24. I say no. He's about as close to being a HOFer as anyone can get though.
  25. I'm not confident he'd be next year's Soto, but I'd imagine he could put up somewhat similar numbers to what Lee has put up the last two seasons, and as you say, be much cheaper and be a lefty bat.
