  1. Agreed, I think USC is just as good as Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Even though I always cheer for Big Ten teams. I am kind of glad that USC is drubbing PSU. 1st reason, help create BCS controversy. 2nd reason, help PSU fans get over their we are superior to the rest of the Big Ten attitudes, though their team has done nothing to have this attitude in the entire time they have been in the Big Ten.
  2. Voice of Reason, I dont think you would find too many Big Ten fans who would say that we were one of the better conferences this season. So I dont know if its reasonable to say that the Big Ten is over-rated. Though I think beyond the top team the Pac 10 is not really better than the Big Ten.
  3. I disagree. You dont need a enforcer, you need a guy or two that can cause problems in front of the net and win battles in the corners. You are not going to beat the Wings or the Sharks adding a George LaRoque
  4. I know this sounds scary for the Hawks, but Khabibulan has created some trade value. This team is not a Cup contender as they stand today. I think they should trade Khabibulan while he has trade value, free up some cap room and than go after a guy like Bill Guerin. I know you would be gambling on Huet, but honestly I think adding someone like Guerin would really help the Hawks. Also I think the Hawks are just young. Detroit was very similar in the early 90s. There is a good future there. The Hawks have a good defense core and obviously some great young forwards. Dont get down too much, the future is bright.
  5. quite a bit better than both the Wings goalies this year
  6. I think he's going out of his way to praise the Wings so as to avoid any appearance of bias given his day job. Cards fans whine about Joe Buck doing the same thing all the time when he calls Cards games for FOX. Its funny, I agree that he is going out of his way. I thought he was good on Tues also. Last year during the Cup finals, it was obvious he was anti-Wings or pro-Pens
  7. But all he needs is consistant time on the ice! Oh yeah, that's it! I have an inherent bias that I'll readily admit against French Canadian players. I don't like their style and i don't think they play with heart. Although the style thing doesn't apply to Huet, I don't think he plays with heart or intensity. And he generally has just sucked all year, save for a couple games. My favorite non Wings player of all time is a French Canadian
  8. I am watching the MSU game for a second and miss a goal and a possible goal
  9. I am watching the Hockey game more than the MSU game. It seems like MSU has to be upset that they have not scored more.
  10. You really need to stop constantly complaining abut refs and now other things lol ill put it in green next time for you say what you want about the wind...playing the puck handler is the first play on defense. I didnt see who the Hawks had on but there right side should have been over since the Wings were getting support from the left. I think Olcyzk was being a little to nice to the defensemen on that play
  11. surprised they didnt give filpulla a penalty shot..for the casual fans
  12. It should have been a no call..running Hossa was terrible and the other ref knew it and Toews hit Fillpula high with the stick
  13. OK I hope you Hawks fans will quit being homers about the reffing
  14. it wasnt tripping. If you mean before teh goal
  15. LOL..I think most Wings fans think he has the intelligence to match
  16. It would be awesome if the Big Ten goes 2-0 against the SEC Ohio St is 4-2 in BCS games...Michigan is 1-3. Illinois was also part of the 0fer the last couple of years.
  17. no he didnt, lilja was more worried about hitting him instead of body position And on the replay, Conklin just plain lost the play and left the whole net wide open. Well, I still like Eager. yeah he made a good play...I was just mad at Lilja, he has played awful the first period and that was just a terrible play on his part. Eeger made a good play to take advantage. I though the Hawks didnt get enough pressure in front of the net the other night. It definetly looks like they are putting more pressure in front this game. They may not control the puck as much doing so, but it creates better scoring chances.
  18. no he didnt, lilja was more worried about hitting him instead of body position
  19. I was thinking the opposite, maybe they are going for lots of power-plays to show off some skill. Though some of them haven't been discretionary. it looks like they are overlooking obstruction on the PPs, the first goal by both teams were aided by some obstruction.
  20. the Hawks look like they are purposely putting more pressure on in front
  21. he wasnt listed as out!!!! heck ya
  22. pressure in front of the net!!
