  1. Lol. Seriously Dave Kaplan is dumber than the Voice of Reason. and almost as ugly as South Side Ryan.
  2. They lost to Texas Tech who lost to Mississippi. Big 12 looking very over rated in the bowls.
  3. Gonna be a lot of bitter guys with two names (e.g., Billy Bob, John David, Billy Ray, etc.) down on Bourbon Street tonight.
  4. The Ole Miss dogging has to stop. Ole Miss is a better team than Oregon State and is one of the top twenty teams in the country. They're not chopped liver. I think people are going to be surprised tomorrow afternoon. I don't think they will win, but I think it will be a close game. That being said, Florida and USC are a toss up. Florida lost at home. The Trojans lost on the road.
  5. Another perfect example of why a college playoff is needed. Let the best teams play each to determine who the champion is. These conference bowl tie-ins are a farce.
  6. Classy move by USC to lay off and let Penn State score a couple. Texas will not show the same mercy against THE Ohio State University.
  7. So the only time a Big Ten school doesn't play for a championship is when the conference is down? Heck, a Big Ten school has played for the championship the last two years out of a down conference. Unfortuneatley the voters and the computers didn't know it was a down year before the blowouts.
  8. You know how you would have not been robbed. Beating an Oregon St. team that managed to score 3 points against Pitt. Another year, another no championship for you. Soooooooooo sad. Oregon State is a good, consistent program though. And they beat Pitt without the Rodgers brothers (Quizz Rodgers was Pac 10 player of the year). I don't see what's such an embarrassment about losing to them. Well, Penn State beat Oregon State 45-14. And USC beat Ohio State 35-3. Citing the results of those two games means nothing because they cancel each other out. I don't understand what cancels what out. But in quantifying singular losses for a national title contender, losing to a team that lost 45-14 to Penn State and 65-28 at home to Oregon has to considered a subpar loss. Oregon State is a quality team, sure. This string of posts is whether USC was "robbed" of playing in the title game. They weren't. They were less deserving than Florida, Oklahoma and Texas. I agree that USC wasn't robbed of playing in the title game and that Florida/OU/Texas were probably more deserving. Just not because USC lost to Oregon State. USC lost at Oregon State Florida lost at home to Mississippi Penn State lost at Iowa Texas lost at Texas Tech. The first team should have won all of these games, but they didn't. USC was less deserving not because of their loss but because the Pac-10 wasn't that good and the Big 12 and SEC were better so the other teams had more good wins than USC did. Much greater chance of Florida losing at Oregon State than USC losing at home to Ole Miss.
  9. It certainly seems to me that's what SSR is implying when he says: I don't think it's impressive or remarkable what USC has done given the clear talent disparity between them and the rest of the NCAA. It's impressive that they get these kids to come there and ride the bench for 4 years when they could start for 75% of BCS programs. Maybe someday Pete will be considered as good a recruiter as Ron Zook.
  10. If you're gonna cheat, you should get some results beyond a home game against either the 2nd place Big Ten team or the 1st place Big Ten team in a down year every single year.(That was a horribly structured sentence) Iowa in 2002, Michigan in 2003 and 2006, Illinois in 2007, Ohio State in 2008, Penn State in 2008... The poor Big 10 just is SOOO UNLUCKY that USC keeps catching them when they're down  You're grasping at straws. That's what we call missing the point. USC plays a home game every years on January 1st because they're too undisciplined to try against teams they should beat the crap out of. Their opponents in these games are 2nd place Big Ten teams if the Big Ten is good(becuase the 1st place team goes to the title game) or a 1st place Big Ten team when the conference is down. The Trojans would rather be playing in the championship game or at least against Texas or Alabama than yet again beating up on a Big Team (I'm sure ABC would too). OSU is a hard place to play and all good teams have at least one let down game during a 12 game season.
  11. you either over estimate USC's offense or under estimate PSU's defense. I think USC wins, but the game will be low scoring No, I think I hit the nail pretty much right on the head. want an award or something? No, but I'd really like one of those attactive Penn State road uniforms.
  12. You know how you would have not been robbed. Beating an Oregon St. team that managed to score 3 points against Pitt. Another year, another no championship for you. Soooooooooo sad. How did your Illini do this year?

  14. The beginning of the end for the Nittany Lambs. Bring on the Oklahoma/Florida winner. 1 - 6 (after OSU loses to Texas) = another great bowl season by the most over rated football conference in the country. PAC 10 is 5 - 0 in bowls. USC was robbed out of a championship game birth.
  15. Don't hold your breath. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3802342 .
  16. got that right. At least they didn't get blown out in their bowl game like Penn State is going to be.
  17. The Defending Champ (me) didn't enter to enable the rest of you to have a chance. USC over PSU by 21.
  18. Sign Dunn and bring back Dave Kingman and Keith Moreland to teach him how to play the OF in Wrigley.
  19. Vegas has the Rose Bowl odds at 3 to 1 - against Penn State deciding to show up. At least no Big ten team (embarrassment) again in the national title game.
  20. Evidently Tebow thinks God was cheering for the Gators. Is the God squad stuff really necessary?
  21. USC beats Florida by 20.
  22. I will be here. I won't chicken away, but I will be here gloating about a Alabama victory. The better team will win and Florida is not the better team. Nick Saban will have his boys prepared and ready to go, and Alabama will methodically wear down Florida, and physical hurt the "pretty boys." Let's put it this way....if Florida isn't up 14-21 points after the first quarter, they will not win. People fall in love with Urban Meyer and the gimmick offense, but you tell you a secret, Nick Saban's "defense" (and ask vance, people cause he would know, also) eats gimmick offenses for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Learn the names of Rolando McClain and Don'ta Hightower, cause there is NOT a better LB duol in college football. You heard. You will be hearing this on Saturday night. USC would beat Alabama by 30.
  23. Donnie, I really want to believe you man. What did your sources tell you then? Really nothing beyond "Jake wants to be in Chicago" and "Atlanta isn't going to happen". I have more to say, but the more I think about it the more it could hurt the Cubs chances of getting him. I'm a Cubs fan first and foremost so I will not risk reducing the Cubs chances of getting one of the best pitchers in MLB just to improve my credibility with the board as a whole. Is your source Peace, Belkast or Big Bird over at Oriole Hangout. Those guys called the Cubs deal for Brian Roberts last years weeks before it happened.
  24. Trojans up 10 - 3 and outgaining them by a 3 - 1 margin. It's only a matter of time before the onslaught begins.
