  1. No, Saber Metrics trade their 7 round pick in 2011 for the Quakers 7th round 2010 pick and the rights to keep the draft moving faster. ;)
  2. Hmm. Good catch - what's the verdict? Shall we change it? Obviously it'd be simple - could switch Houston with Montana or Ohio. Quick switch with Montana fixes that. http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o437/kbukie/NSBBBracket-1.png
  3. Making it pretty: http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o437/kbukie/NSBBBracket.png
  4. Also, Jerry Palm (he of collegerpi.com and CBSSports) doesn't have Illinois anywhere close to the bracket, not even listed in the last four out (Mississippi State, Seton Hall, Rhode Island, Virginia Tech).
  5. This is what I don't get about bracketology, on selection sunday, he always makes changes at the last second. I didn't get a final rating from you. You pretty much agree with how things shook out on our bracket/S-curve?
  6. And FYI, I also entered our bracket into the selection sunday challenge on NCAA.com. Considering only 92% of the brackets registered to this point even have Kansas on it, I imagine our bracket will do pretty well.
  7. We should be in over Va. Tech. They didn't beat anyone. Yeah, they had possibly the weakest 10-6 ACC season in history. They played the top 7 teams in the ACC a total of 6 times (and lost 5). On top of that, they played a 300+ rated non conference schedule and didn't beat anyone there either.
  8. Looks as good as any, and the only game that would affect anything at this point would be Minnesota-Ohio State, but I don't consider a win or loss either way to really push things in a certain direction. The bubble teams we have out are Virginia Tech, Utah State and Mississippi State (and Seton Hall, if you believe they're still in consideration), while Illinois, Minnesota, UTEP, Cal, and Florida are in.
  9. John Gasaway of BP actually made the argument that Wall wasn't even the best freshman on his own team this year.
  10. Truthfully, they have so many more good wins than the rest of the bubble, I think they're safer than most people think. Even if Minnesota jumped them in the eyes of the committee, teams like Florida, Cal, Utah State, UTEP, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State just don't have the good wins to compare. Right now, there are 37 teams for 34 at large spots, and I don't think Illinois is one of the worst 3.
  11. Ok, I gave 90 minutes and no response, so here's the final S-Curve (pending Mississippi State's result today): Rank Team W L top25 26-50 51-100 101-200 200+ SOS NCSOS R+N ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1 Kansas 29 2 8-0 2-2 10-0 5-0 4-0 32 138 11-2 2 Syracuse 28 3 6-0 3-3 9-0 5-0 5-0 27 258 8-6 3 Kentucky 29 2 0-0 7-1 10-1 9-0 3-0 62 199 11-2 4 Duke 26 5 4-3 4-1 12-1 3-0 4-0 4 73 9-5 5 West Virginia 24 6 5-3 3-2 8-1 6-0 2-0 1 39 12-4 6 Ohio State 24 7 5-4 1-1 6-2 7-0 5-0 48 231 7-6 7 Kansas State 24 6 5-3 2-2 8-1 4-0 4-0 6 96 11-3 8 Villanova 24 6 5-3 4-2 5-1 6-0 4-0 8 163 12-4 9 Wisconsin 23 7 6-3 0-1 8-2 5-1 4-0 22 120 7-6 10 New Mexico 28 3 4-0 3-2 1-0 11-1 9-0 98 129 11-2 11 Baylor 24 6 5-3 2-1 8-2 3-0 5-0 37 228 9-5 12 Michigan State 24 7 2-4 2-1 9-2 7-0 4-0 34 170 9-5 13 Pittsburgh 24 7 4-3 1-1 8-2 7-1 3-0 33 221 7-6 14 Butler (HOR) 28 4 2-2 0-1 5-1 13-0 8-0 91 4 13-4 15 Tennessee 23 7 2-2 3-3 7-2 6-0 5-0 45 130 8-6 16 Georgetown 20 9 3-5 4-2 5-1 4-1 3-0 2 63 8-5 17 Temple 26 5 2-2 2-1 6-1 10-1 6-0 27 258 8-6 18 Purdue 26 4 4-3 4-0 6-1 8-0 4-0 31 177 12-2 19 Maryland 23 7 4-4 2-1 7-1 3-1 6-0 27 258 8-6 20 Vanderbilt 23 7 1-2 6-0 8-4 5-1 2-0 29 94 9-5 21 Texas A&M 22 8 4-5 2-3 7-0 4-0 4-0 11 140 7-7 22 BYU 28 4 0-1 5-3 3-0 10-0 9-0 125 188 13-3 23 Clemson 21 9 4-4 1-3 6-2 3-0 7-0 15 245 7-7 24 Texas 23 8 2-6 3-0 9-2 4-0 5-0 39 204 8-6 25 Oklahoma State 21 9 4-5 0-0 5-4 8-0 4-0 49 298 6-8 26 Marquette 20 10 2-6 1-2 8-1 3-1 6-0 51 294 7-6 27 Notre Dame 21 10 3-2 1-1 6-5 5-2 6-0 70 342 4-7 28 Xavier 23 7 0-4 3-3 4-0 11-0 5-0 61 19 8-7 29 Richmond 24 7 1-1 4-1 3-3 9-2 7-0 85 92 10-6 30 Wake Forest 19 9 3-3 2-2 7-3 1-1 6-0 9 162 6-7 31 Florida State 22 8 1-6 4-1 8-1 3-0 6-0 24 222 9-5 32 Gonzaga 26 6 1-2 1-1 9-1 4-1 11-1 111 40 12-5 33 Louisville 20 11 2-5 1-2 6-2 7-2 3-0 23 176 5-7 34 Missouri 22 9 2-5 2-2 9-1 1-1 8-0 56 300 6-7 35 Northern IA (MVC) 28 4 0-0 1-0 8-1 13-2 5-1 114 162 14-4 36 UNLV 23 7 1-2 3-2 2-1 7-2 9-0 97 137 9-4 37 Illinois 18 13 3-7 1-1 5-3 6-2 3-0 13 119 6-9 38 Georgia Tech 19 11 2-5 1-3 6-3 3-0 6-0 12 161 5-9 39 St. Mary's (WCC) 26 5 0-0 3-3 3-2 7-0 12-0 155 128 12-3 40 Minnesota 18 12 3-6 0-0 4-5 6-1 5-0 47 246 4-9 41 Florida 20 11 2-4 2-4 7-2 4-0 5-1 58 215 7-7 42 Washington (P10) 21 9 2-2 1-1 3-4 14-2 1-0 57 125 4-7 43 Old Dominion (CAA)26 8 1-1 0-2 4-3 8-1 13-0 112 33 11-8 44 California 21 9 0-3 3-2 4-2 13-2 1-0 20 10 6-8 45 UTEP 26 6 0-1 1-1 10-3 5-1 10-0 139 263 11-4 46 San Diego St (MWC)22 8 0-2 2-3 1-0 9-1 8-1 83 107 8-7 47 Cornell (Ivy) 27 4 0-2 0-0 2-1 10-0 13-1 218 78 14-3 48 N Mexico St (WAC) 22 11 2-1 1-4 1-2 10-3 7-1 112 102 10-8 49 Murray St (OVC) 30 4 0-1 0-0 2-1 4-2 22-0 297 307 15-4 50 Siena (MAAC) 27 6 0-1 0-3 1-1 18-1 7-0 167 104 10-6 51 Wofford (SC) 26 8 0-1 0-1 2-2 8-4 15-0 207 86 15-7 52 Oakland (SUM) 26 8 0-4 0-1 0-0 6-3 18-0 191 13 13-7 53 Montana (BSky) 22 9 0-0 0-1 0-0 11-4 9-4 310 131 8-7 54 Sam Hou St (SL) 24 7 0-1 0-0 1-1 5-2 14-3 235 92 11-6 55 Houston (CUSA) 19 16 0-0 2-2 5-5 6-4 5-3 102 124 9-10 56 Ohio (MAC) 19 14 0-0 0-1 2-4 7-6 8-3 164 159 6-10 57 UCSB (BW) 20 9 0-1 0-2 0-0 8-1 11-5 186 84 9-7 58 Vermont (AE) 25 9 0-0 0-0 0-2 8-3 17-4 308 312 15-7 59 North Texas (SB) 24 8 0-1 0-1 0-0 5-2 16-4 155 128 12-6 60 Morgan St (MEAC) 25 9 0-1 0-2 0-1 3-3 22-2 304 171 14-8 61 E Tenn St (ASun) 20 14 0-0 0-2 0-3 8-5 11-4 206 30 11-9 62 Rob. 12. And here's my list:
  13. I've received 4 so far, but I can wait a bit yet since this is the last submission.
  14. One thing the committee won't do, for sure, is consider things like "X league should have Y teams". That's just not even part of the process.
  15. New Mexico State is the WAC champion. Not a good day for bubble teams not named Minnesota and Mississippi State.
  16. Before I head to sleep, Utah State is about to lose the WAC championship too.
  17. 8 hours to send me lists (daylight savings starts tonight, don't forget!).
  18. I know someone already sent theirs in, but a quick change of plans: Rank the list of 27 "in" teams, plus Minnesota and Mississippi State. That way, they can be part of the S-Curve in case they win, and we can see where they sit on the "bubble" tomorrow morning.
  19. In S-Curve terms, I'd drop Purdue to 18th, behind Temple, and bump everyone up a spot.
  20. Georgia Tech squeaks past NC State into the ACC title game. And Minnesota is winning by 30. I'm ready to drop Purdue out of the top 16 at this point.
  21. Also, if Purdue can't at least make a game of this, it'd be time to consider dropping them significantly. They're just not the same team without Hummel, and their wins have come against Indiana, Penn State and Northwestern.
  22. In current games... Vandy is catching up to Mississippi State, 51-48 with 5 and a half to play. Minnesota is taking Purdue out behind the woodshed, 37-11 at halftime.
  23. I threw in the bottom of the bracket in mostly reverse-S-curve order: -------------------------------------- Midwest Region - St. Louis, MO -------------------------------------- -- March 18/20 -- Oklahoma City, OK 1 Kansas 16 Winthrop 8 9 -- March 19/21 -- Spokane, WA 4 Georgetown 13 5 Temple 12 -- March 19/21 -- Milwaukee, WI 2 Ohio State 15 Long Beach/UCSB 7 10 -- March 18/20 -- San Jose, CA 3 New Mexico 14 Ohio/Akron 6 Texas 11 -------------------------------------- West Region - Salt Lake City, UT -------------------------------------- -- March 19/21 -- Milwaukee, WI 1 Kentucky 16 East Tennessee State 8 9 -- March 18/20 -- Providence, RI 4 Michigan State 13 Oakland 5 Maryland 12 -- March 18/20 -- New Orleans, LA 2 Purdue 15 Morgan State 7 10 -- March 18/20 -- Providence, RI 3 Villanova 14 Montana 6 Texas A&M 11 -------------------------------------- South Region - Houston, TX -------------------------------------- -- March 19/21 -- Buffalo, NY 1 Syracuse 16 Lehigh/SWAC winner 8 9 -- March 18/20 -- San Jose, CA 4 Butler 13 5 Tennessee 12 -- March 18/20 -- Oklahoma City, OK 2 Kansas State 15 Vermont 7 10 -- March 19/21 -- Jacksonville, FL 3 Wisconsin 14 Houston 6 Clemson 11 -------------------------------------- East Region - Syracuse, NY -------------------------------------- -- March 19/21 -- Jacksonville, FL 1 Duke 16 Robert Morris 8 9 -- March 19/21 -- Spokane, WA 4 Pittsburgh 13 5 Vanderbilt 12 -- March 19/21 -- Buffalo, NY 2 West Virginia 15 North Texas 7 10 -- March 18/20 -- New Orleans, LA 3 Baylor 14 Sam Houston State/SFA 6 BYU 11 Just double check for me that there are no rematches set up or geographical disadvantages for anyone in their first round matchup.
  24. Morgan State wins the MEAC.
  25. Go Vandy.
