I think it only gets bad for Illinois if you see Virginia Tech, Rhode Island, Mississippi State, Utah State or Seton Hall in the bracket.

We had Florida, UTEP and Minnesota in.

Not to mention we actually put OSU, Georgetown and Michigan State into the Midwest region. EDIT: And Tennessee, Houston, UCSB, Georgia Tech and San Diego State.

The thing about this region is it didn't have any of the at-large question teams. All the middling seeds were AQs besides GT.

Duke's profile was phenomenal, and their non-conference schedule was tons better than Syracuse's.

And Illinois did it on the road, while VT did it at home. And it's Illinois' 5th best win. We freaking beat Wisky at Wisky. Freaking Duke couldn't do that. I hate the transitive argument, but then again nobody else won there.

Yeah, Ohio State's biggest problem is their depth, so if they get into any sort of foul trouble they're screwed. Doesn't sound like a recipe for success vs. Duke.

If it comes down to Illinois vs. Virginia Tech, the kicker for me is that Illinois has VT's best win.

I love the angle - "Phillies discussing proposing to swap Howard for Pujols." I mean, it's about the same as saying "Cubs discussing proposing to swap Lee for Pujols. Cubs quoted as saying they think it would make their team better." Yeah, no crap the Phillies would be interested.
