  1. Automatically placed there due to them winning the regular season conference title but not the tournament.
  2. Also, let the discussion begin as to who should be in, who shouldn't be on the board, and who should be a #1 seed. EDIT: I'll start: Duke should be a lock for a 1 seed, more than even Kentucky.
  3. Also, I will be updating the first post shortly with one-line "nitty gritty" reports on all the teams on the board, like I did for the current auto bids.
  4. And just so everyone is on the level, here were my picks: Team - Illinois Locks (29): Considerations (22):
  5. That's the deadline. 10 members: bukie - Illinois Andy - Notre Dame ISUCubsFan - Iowa State Old Style - Texas A&M Transmogrified Tiger - Missouri CubInOK - Oklahoma SouthSideRyan - Illinois reds44 - Northern Illinois Flames24Rulz - Southern Illinois Vanilla Ice - Duke From the lists, here are the 26 teams that are locked into the field (alpha order): Baylor BYU Clemson Duke Georgetown Gonzaga Kansas Kansas State Kentucky Maryland Michigan State Missouri New Mexico Ohio State Pittsburgh Purdue Syracuse Temple Tennessee Texas Texas A&M Vanderbilt Villanova West Virginia Wisconsin Xavier 36 teams in consideration: Arizona State California Charlotte Cincinnati Coastal Carolina Connecticut Dayton Florida Florida State Georgia Tech Illinois Lipscomb Louisville Marquette Memphis Minnesota Mississippi Mississippi State Notre Dame Oklahoma State Rhode Island Richmond Saint Louis San Diego State Seton Hall South Florida Stony Brook Troy UAB UNLV Utah State UTEP Virginia Tech Wake Forest Washington William & Mary So the next step for today: 1 - Get the list of at-large teams to 34 - PM me your top 16 teams in order for consideration. Illinois reps aren't to include Illinois, but it won't count against them. 2 - Start building the S-Curve - PM me your top 8 teams from the teams in the field (includes locks and auto bids). I have the information in the first post on auto bids earned thus far. 3 - Pare down the bubble - PM me your bottom 8 teams in order to remove from the bubble.
  6. Oakland wins the Summit League to grab the last bid of the night. I have a total of 9 entries now (+ me = 10), anyone else, you have 8 hours. To this point, it looks as if we have 26 at-large locks and 38 teams in consideration from anywhere between 8 and 15 bids depending how multi-bid conferences shake out.
  7. Butler takes the Horizon easily, and joins the Auto Bid pile.

  9. North Texas beat Troy in the Sun Belt final, sending North Texas to the auto bid group and Troy (again, likely briefly) to the consideration board. Note: You have 12 hours to send me lists if you wish to participate.
  10. 22 point loss?
  11. Peter King was the guy who said he'd rather have Jeter than Pujols.
  12. I've now received 8 entries (me makes 9) to this point. Still have about 22 hours to get them in if you're interested.
  13. that sounds about right except mccamey IS a good basketball player. when he wants to be
  14. I meant wins as in more than one. Washington got A&M, Cal got Murray State, ASU got SDSU.
  15. Also, Old Dominion, Siena, Wofford and St. Mary's all get auto bids tonight, and Gonzaga goes to the consideration board automatically (and this one may actually stick around a while).
  16. Cal is probably in. Good wins are Washington, Arizona St. x2, and Murray St. Only 2 really terrible losses in Oregon State and UCLA, and 4 of their 9 losses are to probable top 3 seeds. In short, their profile is awful but I can't find enough teams to put over them. Washington and ASU (in that order) are just outside for me. The only team with really decent OOC wins is USC, which is ineligible for the postseason and finished .500 in league play. If Cal makes the conference tournament finals, then maybe I see them and the winner getting in, otherwise I think it's a one-bid year for the Pac-10.
  17. The ACC as a league, top to bottom, is probably the strongest league in college basketball. However, top heavy it isn't.
  18. Reminder that if you would like to participate in the mock committee, PM me your lists of locks, considerations and team rep in the next 40 hours or so. I've received 3 entries so far.
  19. Rankings matter very little, and particularly this week they're even more meaningless.
  20. 888? You sure that isn't a sex line? I tried it, and it connects to someone named "Jenny". Forrest's girlfriend? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/867-5309/Jenny

  22. Stony Brook lost in the America East semis...so briefly to the consideration board they go.
  23. Northern Iowa gets the 5th auto bid, and no longer has to be worried about its at large status.
  24. I think a Keaton Nankivil 33-foot shot to close the half is one of the generally acceptable shots to let them have. It's not like it was a Bohannon spot-up 3 or anything. No shot is acceptable when you have fouls to give and 5 seconds left. None. You are asking for that to happen. And if you foul someone facing the basket in that spot you run the risk of giving them 3 free throws or a 4 point play.
