    The choices were Detroit or a San Jose team that swept Vancouver. The hot team is San Jose. Yeah, this is clearly the better matchup. Plus the rivalry factor should make for fun television. And some fun misery porn by reading the other teams message boards after a Hawks win. Though that swings both ways. I'm happy with it. San Jose hot though, after dispatching the biggest choke-meisters in the NHL? Nay! Yeah, I'd hate to be playing any team in the second round coming off a series victory.

    Well, Detroit is a puck control, finesse team like the Blackhawks, except about 10 years older. Plus, Detroit doesn't employ Raffi Torres, so the Hawks can hopefully avoid a playoffs-ending injury to a top line player.

    How Bowden is on the team still baffles me. At least bring up someone from Iowa because there has to be other options in the farm system. There isn't. That's the problem. The AAA and AA pitching is a black hole of even worse suckiness. Dolis is about the best shot they've got for the near future unless Vizcaino doesn't pan out as a starter.

    Oh yes, because the come back victories have been so plentiful and the games blown by the bullpen have been so rare. When you predict that the game is over in the 8th inning 162 times a year, you'll probably be right 75% of the time, and you'll be annoying, pointless, and stupid 100% of the time.
